Harrods Tudor BB

Sorry if its been covered but any idea why Harrods has two green BB's on display and for sale? I was under the impression they were sold out and a LE. I was there today and they had two in the display. One with the caseback showing and one displaying the front of the watch. No idea how many they have in the back. Just curious

Didn't have time to ask too many questions about it as the kids were going to see santa and I just had to swing through the watch room first.

What? You didn't buy both of them on the spot to flip for profit?

I don't know what to make of this.

thats weird then. They have price tag stickers on the watch and next to the watch. If you are going to display them to display them ok, but don't put the price tag on

if i didn't have the kids with me i might have bought one if they were actually for sale. Didn't trust them to behave while i tried one on.

They put them out on display while they are waiting for customers to collect them. The wait list is still pretty long.

That makes sense - I asked the time I was there before picking mine up and they were not for sale. They do have people who pay for them but who can’t pick up for a while so I guess it’s an opportunity to display them.

Thankfully mine was in its coffin under the counter.....

I think the list is still open btw and they are going through quite a few at the moment (up to about 1400 now). No idea when they will close the list but if they have people waiting they may as well sell them.

FWIW it took 3.5 months for me to get mine after I went on the list towards the end of August.

Tyler,,

Harrods seem to have these little idiosyncrasies like showing a model like the green and then telling anyone intrested that's it's a Year or two wait.

Taking a snap of my receipt was another? Lol but Tudor asking me to put a deposit

Into a Harrods general account instead of Tudor directly really took the biscuit and that was for the Gmt ,,
I felt for the salesman at Tudor because it seemed to make no sense,
I never placed the deposit ,,,

How likely is it for someone in the US to be able to get one of these directly from Harrod's (via the waiting list) without actually visiting them in London?

Will they ship to us in the US?

I was told they belong to the manager and the director. There purely to attract attention.

ironic because its in the worst area of the watch room in the basement next to the service desk.

You have to seek out tudor to even buy it. No one cared except me and i was mildly interested.

Yeah, it’s not great. The staff were great though. the lady I dealt with by mail was fabulous, and the fella when I went there was great.

If you can snag one, it’s worth having. I guess it’s a Tudor thing rather than a harrods thing however.

don't get me wrong its a great looking watch. I would buy it for sure, its not a watch i would waitlist for though.

As much as i feel bad for Tudor getting hosed with their placement in the renovated watch room at Harrods, its Moser who really got hosed as they are right next to Tudor almost like they are hiding them.

Yes, the set up has certainly hidden a few brands. I expect the hierarchy has been dealt with by on high.

Is a shame as they’d sell quite a few more others rather than have Rolex take up half the top floor with no bloody watches.....

I think they had the bulk of those in there when I was in last week. I was more referring to steel models (I tend not to notice pm stock as I have no intention to buy)

Either way, it’s not a bad setup as long as you know where the brands are. I certainly enjoy having a nose around.

In regards the watch, I completely agree. I really like it, but I don’t think it should really be a waiting list piece. That said, I’m glad I have one albeit the usual rules re Tudor apply (it’s big, it wears thick etc).

Both pieces have been on display since day one and are not for sale. They serve purely as a sales and marketing tool for both brands.

I wonder if the second one is mine.

When I was in London earlier in the year they only had the one display and after trying it on I asked to be put on the list. I got an email a few weeks ago that it is available for pick up.

What a great excuse to go back to London. God, I love that city.

It’s a nice watch for sure, but the fat Rolex brother. Good for the money.
It’s not a limited edition though. Let’s say wait listed.
Picked mine up a month ago, they wouldn’t give the outer cardboard sleeve to the box or the price hang tag. Fair enough.
Tyler, put your name down.

They told me the two in the cabinet were early LE numbers and are both owned by harrods directors and definitely not for sale.
