3940 & 5196 - Introduction
Hello all,
My name is Anthony and I have a Patek addiction. I simply wanted to say hi and share some photos. I recently acquired the 3940 and intend to wear it daily. I am getting married in a few weeks so the 5196 will be on duty for the special day. I'm just a young buck so please excuse (and politely correct) me if I am misinformed. I look forward to talking (typing) to everyone!

Congrats on advance for your wedding. These are great watches and you made very good choice to start your patek collection.

Consider your 3940 for your wedding rather than your 5196 though. A perpetual calendar on your day of perpetual commitment. It just seems right. |

I love everything it stands for. Perfect design. Under-the-radar. NOT a sports watch, perfect movement and case, small size. It's no wonder that De Niro wears these. And Connor McGregor wears a Nautilus. Love the 5196 too. In fact, I'm going to buy the R and wear it every day. Lovely watches both. |

Beautiful duo. It'd make some poetic sense to wear the perpetual to your wedding, just sayin'.

Thank you all!
I was planning to wear the 3940 to the rehearsal and dinner then the 5196 on the wedding day. I might have to switch those around now!

Absolutely wonderful combination.
I have the 5140G (the follow-up to the 3940) and 5196G, the 2 favorite Pateks in my collection. Wear the 3940 to the wedding. Or at least wear it to the first half of the wedding - you can then change into the 5196 for the second half? Then both watches would have "participated" on your big day. I'd love to get the 3940 too but like something new and unworn. I dream about getting my hands on a sealed 3940G or unsold stock at any AD! |

Two beautiful watches - a classic Calatrava with a seconds subdial and a perpetual calendar.
