Fly me to the moon!

First of all, I must express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to my good friend Chip for giving me the opportunity to add one of the true icons to my little collection.

I think as many of you know I have a real preference for vintage pieces, especially pieces that hold a special place in history.

The Speedmaster professional is truly a special watch. This model harkens back to a special time in history. A time when a special breed of men accepted a challange and a dream. These men were true pioneers, strong men who relied on each other and the equiment they chose.

They truly had "The Right Stuff"!

Thank you Chip, I am in your debt.

Presented is the Omega Speedmaster Professional circa 1980.

Great story and great pics! I think that see-through-back wasn't standard option? ;) Looks great. And turns my head few degrees to same direction ;)

Lovely watch and an all-time classsic. I'm glad Omega hasn't changed the basic dial over the last 40 years.
