Rolex watches. This year my wife and I dealt with John concerning two relatively rare Rolex vintage reference models. We were and are very pleased with his service and our professional treatment at QualityTyme in St. Petersburg.

We recommend him highly for service work and purchases involving Rolex and other high end quality time pieces. Hope you stay open a long-long time, John.

I've dealt with John many times and know him quite well personally. He's also an author and his reference book The Rolex Report is a very resourceful reference. He has my vote of confidence too!!!!

It is a bit concerning when I have to move 180 degrees out from a previous
review of a watch shop and owner. Quality Tyme service is the subject.

It is always a bit disappointing when one receives two types of
service or watch trades from a watch shop. So-I am giving a before and after review.

Trades or purchases from John Brozek on Rolex watches are fair and above board.

Service of watches, or an agreement involving service to Rolex watches is another matter. I will be brief and to the point: I do not recommend
any Rolex service work at Quality Tyme as the work is sub-standard and
prior agreements are not honored with professional conduct or performance.

I'll add to this.

I had John service a couple of watches a few years ago. It was mostly small stuff- reinstallation of the original dial on a watch, polishing a crystal, etc.

There was another watch that I'd acquired a few years prior. It was not particularly high end and the movement was toast.

I sourced a NOS movement and brought it to John for service & installation.

John said it'd take a month or so and that he'd call me when it was ready.

I'd read a couple of reviews that his turnaround times were often much longer than quoted and that he'd become hostile when pressed for updates.

With this in mind, I didn't follow up at the 30, 60, 90 day marks.

Maybe 4-5 months after I dropped the watch off, I see him post it to his Instagram page. I called his shop to see if it was ready for pickup. He acted like he had never heard of me or the watch- said he was totally unfamiliar with it and asked if I had the ticket from when I dropped it off.

I checked his Instagram a few minutes later and he had deleted the post.

The situation seemed a little odd but I shrugged it off- I figured I'd track down the ticket when I got home that night.

Lo and behold, I was unable to locate the ticket. I called again to try to make sense of the situation and was met with immediate hostility.

I still don't know what actually happened to my watch. I'm assuming he mistook it for one of his own pieces and sold it. I was more bothered by his handling of the situation than anything else. A simple 'I lost it.' or 'That was a different watch' or 'I'm sorry- I sold it by mistake' would have been sufficient.

I chose not to pursue it- it really wasn't worth the frustration.

I hope anyone reading this post will consider this: If he can't be trusted to be honest about a $500 watch, are you willing to trust him with your Omega, Rolex, Patek? Are you willing to gamble that the watch you are purchasing was acquired legitimately?
