Correct end pieces for 1601

The end pieces on my Datejust 1601 don't stay flush with the case. What is the fix and what are the correct end pieces? Thanks

Oyster or Jubilee? and SS or Tu Tone ? My 1603 DJ with an 78360 Oyster Bracelet uses 558 end links. Not sure on a tu-tone oyster.

SS jubilee would use a 555 ( or a 55 for the older rolled link Jubilee) end piece I believe, and as noted a tu-tone jubilee uses 455.

Often times, a bend/tweak of the end piece can fix the issue.

Pics would certainly help.

Generally there are two "fixes". First, you must be using the correct spring-bars of proper diameter. 2mm for early watches w/1.2mm pivots to fit properly in the case through holes.. If those aren't the right diameter or excessively worn, the end-links will have slack..

Second, there will still be wear in the endlink tubes and some banging around can loosen them.. The bat-wings on the back of the endlinks can be bent slightly in towards the case and this will rotate the top contour curve against the case..

If you just pinch them together they don't look so good..

Can you use the same spring bar that came with the jubilee bracelet and end links? I am trying to get my hands on a 78360 and 558 end links...Im assuming that is the correct combo for a SS 1601. Right?
