Personally I totally don’t get the people who pay a massive premium.

I’d only ever consider paying the future value of a watch if I thought it would take 4-6 years. So that’s 3 5% price rises. That puts me at 11k. I’d push to 11.5 maybe 12.

Which was possible a few years back.

22-24k current list price is just total insanity for a high production / not that special / hyped watch.
Well today many just buy because of the Daytona internet hype, to wear the hype thinking they have something special and so called rare. The Daytona SS has always been hard to get at retail since launch way back in 2000.Afraid today many are bought then flipped to the grey where world wide there are thousands for sale at crazy prices for those willing to pay.And while there are those willing to pay the trend will continue the WIS in many ways have made a rod for his own back.

Agreed.

It is a watch. If you want it then pay for it, otherwise there are many other fine watches to be enjoyed.

After my recent Batman purchase from AD, I was offered white Daytona but I passed as I dont like the watch (not my taste) so I won't wear it and I don't want to contribute to the vicious cycle of flippers > grey market that has created this nonsense hype and bubble.
