New Addition To The Stable - 16713 GMT

Hi All,

Two-tone watches are extremely polarising in the watch community, I must admit that when I got seriously into watches around 2014 the last thing on my radar was a bi-metal piece.

Over the years that followed I have seriously changed my tune. Last year I was fortunate to pick up my Birth Year Day-Date & I decided that I would supplement that piece with a reference 16713 GMT2 when the right one came along.

I had to sacrifice a couple of pieces to partially finance this but since I made the decision I haven't looked back & I'm really enjoying this as part of the daily rotation. Despite being 15 years old this 2004 Y Serial this was really well looked after & has all of the boxes, paperwork & even the original swing tags etc (one features the original sales price of £3730).

Overall as far as Rolex is concerned I've decided I'm a 4 & 5 digit man!

A few pictures below to mark the occasion:

That's a beautiful piece brother, enjoy it!

I don't think TT is really polarizing. They just don't retain or increase in value like steel does, but they are nice.

Thanks for the kind words & I hear you re value, speculation isn't the game for me I collect what I like with no regard to value retention/growth or future sales.

The multiple questions/threads on here regarding investment potential aren't in the spirit of this community for me.....

Fantastic watch! I think TT is just either your thing or not. When I bought my first Rolex I couldn’t imagine owning a TT until I was a bit, ahem, more distinguished, but earlier this year I saw a CHNR for the first time in person and fell in love, I bought it on the spot! And I’m not that much more distinguished than when I bought my first Rolex!

The 16713 is not my favourite model, but yours looks particularly nice!

Do you know if the bracelet has been polished?

Congratulations, beautiful watch.

I have owned a 16713 since new in 2002, it was my only watch until 2015.
Still love wearing it today. And recently I've been wearing it on a rubber strap, which looks cool.

Apparently it was with Rolex for a service not long before I purchased, I'm unsure whether they refinished it...

Good to think of the longevity based on your ownership & nice to change the strap choice up from time to time...
