Another “would you do it?” thread

I currently own a DJII, Hulk, and a BLNR. The BLNR is my least favorite of the 3 and gets the least wrist time (I know many on here will think I’m crazy). I like the watch, but I’m just not obsessed like most others.

I’m debating on putting it towards a WG Daytona oysterflex. Obviously the trade requires a sizable portion of cash. (The watch is amazing!)

Thoughts?

(I know it’s my decision, I should do what I want, etc. - I’m just curious as to what others may think).

Without hesitation yes. That'll make for a great trio with the DJII and LVc.

Do it. BLNR is overrated IMO.

I always think financially when I hear about trades. Most people I encounter on TRF say "it's not an investment, blah blah". Yes watches are not good investments, but you are still using tens of thousands+ of dollars on a piece so it is a financial decision. Dealers are the only ones who make out well in a trade, and I bet they would love to do a trade with you, for anything. They will always make the numbers end up in their favor. That being said, if you bought the batman at retail and can sell it separately on your own at used market, then why not? If you bought it at grey market prices and now are bored, you will lose your butt, and there I say live with it.

If that is what you want then I say go for it. The details of a deal will determine how and if I would do it. Talk with the Trusted Sellers here on TRF that have the watch you want and see if you can make a deal. I would go slightly pre-owned and I would add the DJII to close the gap, as once you have the Daytona, I do not see it getting a lot of wrist time. Go get all the information and make the decision. Good luck.

If that’s what you want, then why not. It’s a good time to offload the BLNR with the assumption that you got it for msrp.

If you don’t wear it, unload it.

I just traded a Hulk and haven’t though twice about it yet.

Depends on the numbers for for the Daytona and the BLNR.

If these were right, then sure.

As someone else mentioned trade the BLNR and DJ. That way you’ll have a great duo.

100% do it! The Daytona is a stunning watch. If you’re not in love with the BLNR, don’t hold on to it for the sake of it. Trade up.

To give some additional info...the DJII was a wedding gift from my wife and my first Rolex. It’s not going anywhere.

The BLNR was purchased for $7,600 brand new full set, in my name. Yes, I know this price sounds ludicrous in 2019. I’m getting MP for the BLNR now, so I’m obviously in the money on it.

If you don't wear a watch regularly and you can part with it and have no regrets: I think you should do it. Take advantage of the crazy SS market and get the Daytona. I think it is a worthy trade and you get to add a PM piece to the rotation.

Let us know how it goes!

I would totally do that trade. I have the WG OF Daytona and it’s an amazing watch. So versatile.
