Yes, 100%. BLNR is IMO the most overrated “hot” watch out there.

Yep, I own and love the BLNR so my preference would be to add the Daytona without selling BLNR. But if you don’t love it then do as Elsa says and “Let it goooooo”.

Honestly, even if you don’t trade for the WG Daytona, now seems like a pretty good time to cash out on the BLNR.

So I’d be getting $13k for the BLNR and I’d need to put up another $17k for the Daytona. Like I said, I paid $7,600 for the BLNR, so I’m in the money on it. Could maybe squeeze out another $500 from it if I sold it myself, but I think $13k is fair.

The Daytona isn’t brand new but the card is dated 1/2019 and has prob 75% of the stickers still on it.

Everyone still in?

There’s no point of owning a watch because others like it and you don’t!!
Get the watch you like even if it’s the most hated one by others! Only YOU that count!!

I’d consider that trade. But it’s a dealer so you will take a bath. So I’d insist on market value of my trade as the standard for negotiating.

You can actually go to an AD and buy a white gold Daytona, while your BLNR sells for insane money over retail. Only reason to keep a BLNR in today's market is because you love the watch. You obviously don't so get rid of that thing and get the watch you actually want.

This may be controversial but why not go for the all WG Daytona and swap out the bracelet for a Rubber B when you’re in the casual mood? This way you can alternate between bracelet and rubber and have different looks from one watch...

The BLNR is my favorite Rolex — I LOVE IT! Having said that, if you don’t, I would absolutely recommend selling it and getting the watch you love.

I would say the same thing to the owner of a Paul Newman Daytona who didn’t love it ... get what you want!

Dealers are the only ones who make out well in a trade, and I bet they would love to do a trade with you, for anything. They will always make the numbers end up in their favor. That being said, if you bought the batman at retail and can sell it separately on your own at used market, then why not? If you bought it at grey market prices and now are bored, you will lose your butt, and there I say live with it.

Well said......

No right or wrong way to trade in the game. As long as it makes you happy, do it.

I'd do that. I would suggest you look to sell the BLNR privately and try to get the WG Daytona at RRP which should reduce that gap considerably.

I think the WG Daytona offers excellent value in this market if you can find one.

Obviously a lot TRFers think you should do it. I’m going to go against the grain. First, there is no way I would put up 30 Gs on a watch the comes on a rubber strap - ever. That just doesn’t compute for me. Second, while Daytonas can be very photogenic they are, in many lighting conditions, not very legible. I say don’t do it.

He is ofereing a fair p;rice on blnr

But he is a little high on the daytona. You should be paying around 28. I would definitely trade up, they are not even comparable. That daytona is beautiful.

I’m seeing 27-28 on RG or YG, but the WG is commanding more.

Don’t do it. Sell that BLNR yourself and don’t get the shaft. It will be an easy one to move if you are reasonable.

BTDT. Sold my BLNR earlier this year, haven't missed it.

I also bought (slight overlap) a WG Daytona. Beautiful watch, but just not for me. I had a hard time telling what time it is.

I should add though that if it appeals to you, the older Daytona with a WG bezel instead of the ceramic can be had for thousands less money. Which is kind of ironic, as certainly the gold is worth more than a bit of ceramic.

Go for it. If you don't love the BLNR, don't get keep it for the hype. The WG Daytona on OF is one of the best modern Rolex watches IMO, so you can't go wrong.

I would, but I'd sell the watch by itself to get max money out of it. Heck, I'd sell the DJII as well and then you'll be pretty close to the WG Datyona.
