New DSSD precision
Hi guys,
Just wanted to share the good news regarding my new DSSD's precision... In 48h it is ....... +- 0sec!!! Wow! Probably it's in the .1s of a second off, but still, it's clearly whit-in one second. Way to go Rolex!

That's an awesome result. Funny how some people say the parachrom is just a marketing gimmick but with its increased resistance to shock & magnetic fields no wonder more modern Rolexes have consistently shown themselves to be more accurate than the non parachrom watches. Even though the nivarox is still very good & accurate, the parachrom seems to be an improvement with regard to accuracy. |

Just as it should be.
It may run ahead and drop back over a few months, I think they run a little faster in cool weather, than in warmer weather. I have read that most of the newer DSSD's are usually quite accurate. Congrats on the watch by the way...

doesn't it depends on what orientation your watch is at? like on it's left/right sides, back or upside down can make it run faster/slower?

Thanks!
Oh yes, I'm happy as long as it's within COSC specs. Almost 3 days now, and It's still right on. I'm using this for measuring: http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java

Although I would prefer any mechanical watch to gain slightly, your watch is showing 99.997% accuracy. And IMHO thats fantastic accuracy for any mechanical watch.Rolex watches in general have been fantastic timekeepers for decades. But for accuracy the main thing is how they are regulated,I have Cal 1520 and Cal1560 watches running + 1 and + 2 seconds a day.You could try resting your watch when off wrist flat dial up might pull back a second or so but your watch is running fine.

Great to hear that your watch is working the way it should be, Andreas.
Again I must congratulate you on your new purchase. The DEEPSEA is a really really cool watch, to say the least! Quote:

I'm so happy with it. Now it's 4 days in, and I can't believe it... It's still +- 0. I mean, how is this even possible??? Is there a quartz inside?

9 days in +/- 0 sec. Again, probably in the 0.1's on a second, but too small for me to measure it.
It's unbelievable.

Well, I wouldn't be too happy with that, but still within specs. Mine must be an extra special model...

With regulation, it should be possible to remove all of the fixed offset, leaving you with only the periodic + random error.
For example, if your watch is 4 seconds +/- 1 second fast, you should be able to adjust out the 4 seconds so it runs +/- 0.5 seconds per day. |

That's amazing! I wish my watches kept time that well... But then again, I'm not the type to obsess with that.
