Cant do one. Just bought a 16710 so I'll be letting go of an Omega Sub and maybe a Tudor Sub. I feel like I've finally dialed in my collection with nothing on my want list and if it doesn't get worn it should and will be sold.

Couldn’t do the one watch thing. I’m not really a collector. I just enjoy watches. Each watch I’ve acquired over the years have a story so I never want to get rid of them.

Yes, think about it. Probably keep my 114060 as the ONE. It would be a good time to sell as values are up across the board. In the end, I have what I want and I wear them all. But I still think about it.

+1. I think the LN is the most perfect "single watch" of all time.

The funniest part of this thread is that I started it and yet sold the watch I posted, haha.

If I had to keep just one it would be my 2019

Datejust, but I currently have 16 watches, with 5 Rolex and 2 Tudor, and I would like to get down to three.

2019 Datejust
2002 Explorer
2004 ND Sub

Hopefully I will be able to do it.

I have a BLNR, Speedy Moonwatch, and a Seiko Shogun. I've owned a Polar Explorer and a Hulk.

I tired of the Explorer, and hated the lack of a non-rotating bezel (I travel frequently). The Hulk green just wasn't me, and the green just didn't seem to fit with anything I wore.

Once I got the BLNR, I just couldn't take it off my wrist. It's my most complimented watch. It's the closest I'll get to a one watch guy - no other Rolex has appealed to me enough lately to really want it.

The Speedy is great, and flies under the radar, but the lack of date annoys me and I miss the GMT function of the BLNR.

The Shogun is awesome for a beater and for when I go diving. It's got a lot of scars. It's also my gym watch / do anything watch.

I might be a one Rollie guy, but there are occasions that call for the other watches.

I'm tempted to buy a BLRO and put it on an Oyster, but then I know I'll get annoyed having to rotate my BLNR and BLRO and re-set the damn things.

Not to mention the money is better spent invested in income producing assets rather than more watches.

But goddamn, the BLNR makes me smile when I glance down at it in the sunlight. It's something I looked for for a whole year before I found one at an AD, and it has a lot of sentimental value for that period in my life.

These days, just a DD40 in white gold. The vast majority of people manage perfectly well with one watch. Let’s be honest, mechanical watches are now a fascinating novelty, a phone is more useful.

I'd actually like to do this at some point. My issue is more that I need to figure out which watch I'd want to do it all. A ceramic Daytona would be great, but chances of getting one are non-existent. Beyond that...there are a lot of tough decisions that would have to be made. Some day....

Revisiting this thread ...

I don’t think the inflated prices or scarcity influences my thinking at all because that not why I started collecting.

Rather, I do sort of envy the person who has one watch and is content to make memories with it. I just don’t think that is me, at least not at this time.

Ever just want to sell them all and just roll with one?

I have three plus the RG Yachtmaster for my wife.

Yellow Gold SUBMARINER "smurf" 116618lb

Rose GOld DAYTONA 116505

Sd4k 116600

Thought about just keeping the Sub, but for my delicate wrists, I need something a little lighter, especially when doing strenuous Activities.

Love the Sub for the Heft when I want heft! Plus, I really love the flat blue in the sun and fluorescent lighting!

Love the Sd4k, because it is more than just a Sub. Has more heft and presence than a regular SS Sub, but not nearly as much as a PM Sub.

Love the Matte dial no cyclops, and it just wears more comfortable especially with the glidelock.

The PM Daytona, also weighs less than the Full PM SUB, but much more than the sd4k. Plus, it wears so comfortably. I mean real comfortably. and really all it needs is the Easy-link, unlike the Full PM Sub that needs the Glidelock

Plus the DAytona, is a real looker. I'll go into how awesome the RG and Black dial is...

So I need at least three,
to be my 1

Well the SD4K was traded for an 18238 which is a nice watch and combined with the 16570 make a nice back up pair for the 116506. On the other hand I was thinking this morning that I should change watches as the weekend is upon me. But no, the 116506 is just such a perfect watch that I have difficulty wanting to wear anything else. Oh I can see owning (and do own) multiple watches but at least for me, when the one appears it makes all others somewhat lesser and lacking in desirability.

This mornings recliner shot!!!

This thought has been creeping up on me. I’ve started cutting down.

The watches for my kids in the SDB. Those left are slowly being moved on.

Boy, good question. However, I got my first Rolex in 1979, a Submariner date and I've often regretted not keeping every Rolex I've had since. I currently have 4 with a YG green dial Daytona on order and over the years I've sold 4. I would list them here but it depresses me too much...
