Sure, but Zeitauktion is the part that buys/sells watches on Chrono24 so that's a separate entity. I think they were hoping on buying and selling a lot more, that isn't happening so you can do it with less people.

It would be more worrisome if Chrono24 would fire half of their employees.

Hello to everyone this morning! My name is Dustin and I’m completely new to every aspect of the Rolex and everything that comes along with from the moment one decides to even begin researching one! Lol My father left me a few when he passed away in 2001 and as a 17yr old I had no idea what I was in possession of smh sooo, I traded one or two of them (probably for a cooler looking Fossil) because the Oyster Perpetual didn’t sound familiar so I figured fake. :( Fortunately I still have 3 left but still have zero knowledge as to what I really have mainly because I’ve been unable to find what I would call and Identical to compare. Also from what I’ve read in different places is the date that’s on the inside isn’t even a date this watch was made so any help or wisdom you guys could impart on a still teenage ignorant to Rolex but not dumb enough to do it again would be greatly appreciated please and thank you all so much ahead of time! Mainly wondering an estimated rarity and possible value of what I think is a 1958 Oyster Perpetual Air King Super Precision. If I remember correctly on the inside of the case back shows Montrez Rolex S.A. Along with the Geneva Switzerland and I believe it said either 5500 or 5504 plus 1958 and the problem I’m having is that the “Air King Super Precision ” is on the lower half of the dial and I’ve been unable to find even a pic of one like it. Any kind of knowledge or direction would be amazing!! Thanks again guys

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't most auctions for charity? Can't the prospective buyers write off the purchase because it was considered a "donation"?

That's the only reason other than d*** swinging I can think of lol.

No, most of the auctions are not for charity.

Mint 15202 k serial full set… offered at 65k.

These were going for over $120k at peak lol. These will continue to fall.

you can rest assured that chrono24 knows what each watch trades for down to the last
penny, shilling or pfennig. however, this info is not getting over to the folks at zeitauktion as their pricing is sky high.

We are well into December/the holiday season...and the lack of liquidity/velocity is staggering. This is why I haven't really been posting pricing as often recently.

I know some were expecting prices to pick back up (lol), but prices are in fact down and there have been far fewer trades.

The lack of velocity is the biggest tell to where the market is heading... It's quite obvious now that sellers are holding out to no avail, as evinced by the lack of liquidity.

There is no question that prices have much more to fall. We are going to revert to the historic mean.

agree, and possibly even fall below those levels for a period of time before settling back to the historical trend line.

a 5712r just sold for $72K here on TRF. That's a massive fall from $150K in Q1 of 2022, and trending down to 2019 levels of around $60K-ish. I just hope the folks who got caught paying the ridiculous inflated prices earlier this year weren't leveraged.

Any more news on any 26420 and 26240s? Funny that there's no sales being posted... Maybe the Xmas period is the time to sit on the fence...

26320 (full set, good condition) just went for 30.6k at auction. That's over a 20% discount over MSRP + tax.

Note that auction prices are inflated as well, as its been discussed ad naseum here.

It's very clear that run of the mill royal oaks will go around or under retail.

The whip effect. Things will go much lower than people thought they could ever go then go back up to the historical trend line.

Spot on Vince. I find myself checking Moda less and less daily because the new posts have significantly declined or the post is the same watch being posted again because the seller can't fetch a buyer.

Christmas is close and nominal prices have, at best, stagnated for some models.

2023 will be interesting. :)

Yeah me too. And to the folks who don’t realise, there seems to be unlimited new stock for many of the hyped models. I walked into a dealer afew days ago and he had more than 6 Pepsi sitting in the display lol.

down a few hundred bucks....nothing major. January is an open question at this point; may trend lower, possibly higher- though unlikely, but still quite possibly.

Have you noticed that all the last videos of the "big shot" greys on YT, there is almost no more deal? They are all speaking about other subjects.

Also I found revealing that one of the seller at Grand Caliber is simply going on holidays (Honey moon) now... during the most dense weeks of the year...

Funny how it’s all crickets when they were touting the holidays as the rebound.

There will be more crickets when they face the music - prices reverting to the historical mean

39.95k. No takers so I’m sure you can get it for less. If you’re not in a rush, I’d wait. Patience will be rewarded as it’s clear where the market is heading (goes without saying we’re in the same camp )
