I knew it’ll be up for grabs when I first heard the project went dry.

All I’d want is the turbine and find a jet to swap it in. Pretty cool car for the right collector I’d imagine. Seems like something jay Leno or lingenfelter would buy. They have an old record breaking speed car at the Henry Ford museum with like 10 engines in a row

Wait, it's designed to go 1,000 mph and the fastest they have recorded it is 210 mph?
My Chevy can do that... |

Cheaper than some hyper-cars but a little different turning radius IMHO

Well, yeah, if it had actually done something.
As it is, it's just another woulda, coulda, shoulda. Now, if someone with deep pockets could salvage the project, that'd be worthy of note.

A top fuel dragster can do 300mph in 4 seconds, using pretty old techonology. But, this thing only ever went 210?

Worth watching the Discovery series from the previous record he sat with the SSC. Amazing technology. These guys leave nothing to chance. Andy Green was never on a suicide mission. He is a former fighter pilot.

Somewhere there’s a dry lake bed in South Africa that has been scraped clean for the 600mph test attempt.
Anyone wanting a safe place to make a test drive (or flight) should rent it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Apparently the car is no longer for sale.
It seems the whole project has been purchased from the receivers and is back on track for the world breaking attempt |
