New Member, Old and Damaged Air-King

Hi, I'm from DC, and I just inherited a vintage Air-King.

Was curious if I could get some advice on the best and/or most cost-effective way to repair said Air-King.

I haven't yet removed the band to see the serial number and other information, but it looks to be a 70s or 80s Air-King, with a severely scratched and cracked crystal, and very worn and scratched band. The watch still ticks, but is slower than it should be. I plan on getting the watch repaired fully, but I'm unsure if it is worth going the Rolex certified route when considering the likely value of the watch itself.

Watch holds sentimental value, as it was my late grandfather's, given to him by my late grandmother.

Hello and welcome, don't be in a rush to have your inherited Air King restored, theres so many contacts and recommendation on this forum i'd strongly suggest you research the watch further learn all you can, also try to obtain photos of your granddad wearing it, before and after photos once you have it restored, and above all don't be afraid to ask the forum for advice and guidance, Nice looking watch even in its used condition, all the best "H"

I've attached some more photos of the watch itself. Definitely not in too much of a hurry, and would love whatever advice that can be provided. Thanks!
