Complete 16610 set

Hi all,
I bought one week ago a wonderful 16610.
The watch was sold in Hong Kong in 1995 (country code : 400. First serial letter W. Date of purchase : 29 JUL 1995. AD : Zurich watch co LTD. Kowloon)

And would like to know what is the good language on the “rolex submariner” and “your Rolex oyster” booklet for a watch sold in 1995 in Hong Kong.
If anyone can tell me the answer it will be very nice.

Thanks a lot

'jour Thibault

HK is a former Brit colony, so English was by 1995 de rigueur.

Trčs cordialement,

Filipe

It should read Eng toward the end of the coding found at the bottom of the second to last page.

It would look like the example pictured below except the date would be 1995.

Ok thanks a lot.
And it’s ok if the watch was purchased in 1995 but if the booklet have the date : 1991 ?

1991 is a little early for my liking. I would look for 1994, 1995.

You might want to secure too - if not with watch already - a 1995/1996 calendar (the split year version), single hologram red seal, mid 90s green translation, a round edged green tag Goldy string (I think I'm no expert mid 90s) and a mid 90s period green holder. Fun to find and not expensive in this mid 90s period at all $100 the lot!

Me voici de nouveau, Thibault.

This is what you're looking after, maybe one year later, but same style.

If you don't have an anchor, 300m ones are easy to get (chromé, pas d'orée)

Bonne chance.

Rolex booklets from 1990s Hong Kong can be in English or Chinese (traditional not simplified characters). Buyers had a choice.

For all of those bits and pieces, you're well over $100, IMHO.

For the English language booklets, make sure they're the international version, not the USA version.

For a sale of July 1995, I'd say you'd be fine with booklets dated '93 to early '95. Keep in mind the printed booklet dates include the month.

Not here in UK.

I've boxes and boxes of mid 90s trinketry though not quite Milton's-room-stuffed-full level)...it's as cheap as chips - tag £10, sing' holo £10 (though pre 87 non-holo now £75), trans £15, calender £12, wallet £14 etc etc - go back to pre-93 be about £150 or so and pre 89 about £250 though.

We are at big money though at say 1953 -1962 for same trinketry of £1500-4500 however !

So here's the thing (and it's a niche hobby granted)....Collect all this superficial accouterments over the years and I suspect you'll make more than their contemporaneous watches in 20, 30 or 50 years is my prediction..... but of course you can't wear an anchor or swing tag unless you're a bit of a pillock !!
