Breitling Old Navitimer color question

I just bought an A13022 and I think it’s circa 1999. From the photos you can tell it looks blue in the right light. Does anyone know if these were ever produced in blue or is it just the patina of black pain over the past 20+ years? Either way the color is mesmerizing. Both photos below are of the same watch inside and outside.

Thank you. It’s so dark it looks black so I’m not 100% sure if it’s a faded black or inky blue.
