Chrono24 prove watch is in possession

Hi all,

I have posted a datejust for sale on Chrono24.
The thing is that my best friend just asked me to be his best man at his upcoming wedding. I thought it would be great to give him the watch as a present! I thus want to remove my listing from chrono24.
Now Chrono24 is stating that my option is to wait until the end of the 3 months sale period, and then prove the watch is still in my possession. It will most likely not be since I'll give it to my buddy.

Could someone please tell me what Chrono24 will be requesting to prove the watch is still in my possession? Will it be a photo of the watch set at a certain time ?

Thanks!

Are you seeking a refund or just the listing removed?

From the FAQ section, which you obviously haven’t bothered to look at:

How can I delete my ad?

How and when you can delete your listing depends on whether you pay a commission fee or listing fee:
Any listings that result in a commission fee upon the sale of the item can only be deleted during their 3-month period of validity for one of the following reasons:
  • The item has been sold
  • The item has been damaged or destroyed
  • The item has been stolen
  • Other reasons for which you are not at fault
Once the period of validity ends, you can delete your listing. To do so, we require proof that the item is still in your possession.
If you paid a listing fee to have your listing published, you can delete your listing at any time.

How do I edit or delete my private listing?

You can edit or delete your private listings in your myChrono24 area under "Listings" by clicking here. If you'd like to change the price, brand, or model, please contact PrivateSeller@chrono24.com. Please note that once you delete your listing, it cannot be reactivated.

You should also spend time reading the Ts&Cs for Private Sellers, and using it during communications with C24 regarding removal of your advert.
If you still feel you’re getting nowhere, use the Management team details on the About Us page, and ask to be contacted by whomever you feel is best to handle the request.

Just to make it clear, I want to delist my watch. I haven't paid anything to Chrono24 yet, the fee is due in case it is sold.

Yes I obviously read that part, that's why I'm asking what proof of possession Chrono is requesting.

Ask them then?
Modify the listing to state the watch is no longer for sale.
Pay the cost of an international call and speak to someone.

Not sure why you relate everything to cost? Cost of fee first, now cost of placing a call.

It's Sunday they're closed. It's the point of a forum to share and discuss.

They'll ask you to set the watch to two different times and take a picture including your drivers license. Else you pay a commission of 6% or the going rate.

They just want to make sure you didn’t sell it direct, bypassing Chrono24

We don't have anything to do with Chrono24..

But I hear that they send a group of four jack booted thugs to your door, sometime around 4 am. They rap six times with a three cell mag-light on the front door before bursting through and demand that you produce said watch.

They'll sit around your kitchen smoking cigarettes and drinking your coffee until you show the watch or cough up the fee.

Yep, pretty sure that's what I heard.
