Need Help Pick A Watch 4 Dad -

So I got my dad a 41mm Ivory Dial DateJust but he noticed that he doesnt wear it very often. I asked him for the reason and he said he think its too heavy.
Now I gotta get my dad a new watch but not sure what to get him. He doesnt want something very expensive, but he does have some preferences

Preferences:
- White Dial
- 36 to 38mm - maybe 39 max
- Leather strap - doesnt like bracelets
- Date function
- 3 hand set up - doesnt like busy dials
- Stainless Steel - for his everyday use

So my friends, I am lost. What would you recommend?
I personally wouldnt get him anything that cheaper than few grand so NO Tissots, Hublot, Breitling, ORIS, B&R, Hamilton, Fossil, MOVADO OR Longines

Glasshutte might have some nice options.

Get him a 1601 on a strap. Affordable two tone that works as a daily beater.

Good luck finding a Hublot or Breitling for LESS than a few grand...now, neither of those brands fit your listed parameters, but ya know...JSing.

Also, Oris makes some mighty fine watches that would fit your parameters and I think you are doing them a disservice by taking that brand off your list.

(Full disclosure I own both Breitling and Oris watches)

Now for a recommendation, the watch you described is a NOMOS

Rolex OP 39mm on an Everest. Get one preowned at a great price, another $200 or so for the leather Everest. Good luck

How about a nice Grand Seiko-I think the anniversary on leather is around 6k so it's definitely not cheap!

Edit- here is the watch I was referencing- http://www.grand-seiko.com/collections/SBGW253 38mm on strap and clean dial- perfect!

Does it have to be something new or would you go a few years old?

I am not sure about case size/weight, but Grand Seiko would probably work too.

Exactly, I said Glashutte but the Nomos line is what I was referring too.

I have been thinking about Seikos. I know they make nice watches and their quality of also very good. But thought I would stick with swiss made watches.

How about a 14790 on leather strap? I don't love the look of AP RO on leather, but so many folks seem to!

Oops- the 14790 is not available on strap- must've been a 15300

I personally love that watch but I think my dad would hate that squarish look but thank you for suggesting it!
