Ah...this is a Rolex forum but OK. But, yeah Zenith is a nice brand of watches. First post ever with that question makes us question.

Don't want to sound rude by any means but you seem new to the higher end of watches. You need a list of good brands to check out?

Zenith make some beautiful watches - their striking 10th possibly being my next major purchase.
Well done for asking this question in the correct "Non Rolex" sub forum

being a sheep or not - no need to call names around here. there are plenty of EXPIs out there too if you didnt already know.

do you even know which models of the above brands you are interested in? there are at least a dozen of good/decent watches from those brands you can get your hands on without breaking the bank balance.... too much.

Zenith is a great brand up there with Patek and Blancpain in complications they make Tourbillions, minute reapeaters and perpetual calenadres and they make all there own movements i Mean all there all movemnets. Also Rolex thought they were good they used to use there El Primero in there Daytonas alos tag uses it in some of there movemnts also the Elite caliber is there own movemnt. Also they have watchs from 1milliom to 4thousand not many brand can do that and both of those extermes dont have diamonds. Its kind of strange to hear people ask if Zenith is a good brand. When other brands like VC and Uyliss Nardin and Patek Phillippe dont use there own movements and also not as accurate yet peopel think they are better quality. maybe bad marketing on Zeniths part.

but in its category i think jaeger is an all around better watch.

they just dont have a solid service network.

Definitely is, even rolex used their movement on the daytona! But of course there are plenty of brands out there and it all depends on your style.

I think that you will find, that apart from maybe the odd 5970 that has still not been sold. Patek Phillipe now make all their movements.

And the accuracy of their pieces by far exceeds any COSC standards.
My 5205G regualry runs at +2 seconds per week

And for what it is worth, imo Zenith make great pieces.

Hello all I own a striking 10th it's Awsome as the bad guys ignore it and the good guys come over and ask about it. But it is a real head turner. It smells of quality, it's one of the best watches I have owned and in top ten that I have seen and I believe this will be the equivalent of buying a daytona the first year they came out as since this guy Mr Dufor took over it's gone up. I saw Steven gerrard and Frank lampard in zenith over the past few months. Would post image for you check out zenith el Primero striking 10 on you tube. Mines on there yeubs 76 be good all

It is one of many good brands to consider.

Your comment about liking Maurice Lacroix because you can get them cheap...
Well you will have the same problem if you ever decide to sell it, very small
resale market and HORRID resale! Find a watch you like and buy it.

My my, you've got an attitude.

To the OP, if you want something REALLY different and unique check out the independent ateliers. Check out the Timezone "Independent Horology" forum.

Some good lower budget ones are Linde Werdelin, and Habring.

In my book, any watch with El Primero inside is considered GREAT watch.

+1 ... Zenith has some weak products IMO (not a fan of the Defy line), but the El Primero is a fine, distinguished movement.

Zeniths - I find - get no respect in the resale market so you can do pretty well on a purchase. I am a sucker for zeniths. I buy them but then end up selling them shortly afterwards. Good luck!
