I'm also amazed that people get "offended" by the watch someone else is wearing...I'm just not going to waste my emotions on something like that. I wear watches from a 41mm smp to my 49mm railmaster and love the size and style of both! People should wear what makes them happy!

I have very small 6" wrists, it's a curse when you like modern watches. One of the watches I like happens to be 45mm. Here are the pics, what do you think?

Agreed Mikea, it ain't worth the effort. Also even though a watch case may be a certain size, it may wear either larger or smaller depending on that piece's intrinsic qualities.

As for myself I have a 7.75" wrist, feel most comfy with a 40-44mm, but can go up to a 48mm no problem or down to a 38mm....either way as long as:
  1. the lugs ain't hangin' off each side of my wrist
  2. the watch isn't as thick as a hamburger
  3. I can read it without squinting
  4. and I can use it as an impromptu set of brass knuckles to some idiot that doesn't approve of what I'm wearing
then I'm happy.

38mm (oops, forgot to screw in the crown before the mug shot)

40mm

43mm

47mm

My wrist size is 6.5" and I own watches that measure 39mm to 44mm. The biggest I would wear is my Pam 88 and it doesn't look overly big on my wrist, rather it looks prominent on my wrist. Of course I would not wear any watch measuring over 44mm either because then it would likely look like a clown's accessory. I guess I'm one of those who wears what is pleasing to me and don't much care what others think. Afterall, I buy watches simply for my own pleasure.

I have 6.8 in wrists and 44 mm is really my max and some 44's don't wear
well on my wrists. The exception is my Linde Werdelin which is 46 mm but wears better
than many 44 mm watches.

I laugh everytime I see someone post a wrist shot of the PAM 341.

Sure it's a cool looking watch, but aside froma few pics of Stallone or Schwarzenegger wearing one, I think they look utterly foolish. And I seriously don't buy it when any of the owners try to justify it's comfort.

I agree. I think it looks very gauche and flat-out obnoxious...

Couldn't agree more....unless you have a 9" wrist or bigger, this thing is gonna look ridiculous IMO. Very few people can really pull it off without it looking like "Clown Wear".

What bothers me more than that is large watch cases with tiny movements.

"Timeless" fashion/trend

What is a good size for a watch to be always fashionable? Is 45mm on a 7inch wrist considered on the "larger" end of the spectrum? I was reading an article that 40mm is a decent size from the past, for the present, and in the future.
