I didnt realize it until a Seiko fan from the WUS forum pointed it out.The index markers at 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 form trapezoid lumes
Only 12 ,6, 9 have rectangular lumes
It only goes to show the Japanese watchmaker brand's great attention to detail and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt its a faithful reissue. The SLA 017 has been given so much of coverage, reviewed and dissected in all the forums, even critics have given their thumbsup
This is 0ne Seiko that will never depreciate in value and I bet even a pre owned will stay above the USD 4K mark

Ooh, this is what I've been waiting for! I'm a huge fan of your pictorial reviews of the SM300, 16600 and GS. When I saw that you got the SLA017 I started salivating waiting for your pictorial.

As always, incredible! Thanks so much for taking the time to do these!

I picked mine up this week. Placed my order after seeing it at Basel World (literally from the exhibition floor) It's an absolute killer!!!

I'd post photos but the site blocks every photo I try to post from my iPhone as being too large. It used to work fine. Pain in the ass.

Now that this has changed from a "it's way overpriced" thread to an appreciation thread, here's some more pics for those of us who love it...

The SLA017 is well worth the money IMO. It was clear to me at soon as I had it in hand. Personally, I think it kills the likes of the Tudors which are at a similar price point. Plus, it's way more exclusive (limited availability).

Sub is obviously great, but i dare to say this is the most beautiful dive watch ever for me... it's got that timeless quality look that i will never get tired of. Just wish the rubber strap was a little shorter..
