Icon4 Kudos Ulysse Nardin

As LVMH week starts in Dubai today and SwatchGroup prepares for its product launch next March, Ulysse Nardin made an announcement that many did not stop and think about.

Effective immediately, ALL Ulysse Nardin watches will process their warranties via blockchain. A FIRST in the industry; specially because owners will have full access to this exciting technology at UN.

Users will know EXACTLY the footprint of every watch....original sale date, customer, services...no more question marks on the story behind the watch.

This, in my opinion, is a HUGE step in the industry...can you imagine being able to know EVERYTHING about that timepiece with a few clicks?

More on UN's blockchain:

Nice!!

How very interesting that the watch industry is the first place I hear of block chain being utilized in mainstream consumer products.

I wonder if this will be able to be utilized for historical pieces too, or just new purchases?

I don’t think this is an industry ‘first’ – Hublot announced its partnering with WISeKey at Basel, in 2009.
Nonetheless, good to see UN adopt this strategy, although it potentially only benefits new watch purchases rather than existing pieces (since November last year, as the YT video upload date indicates).
I wonder if they’ll add older pieces to the database, as and when they are serviced via their network of official service centres?

I purchased this piece from outside a Boutique or AD ( Grey Mkt ) but it came with the warranty card that said it was purchased in Dec 2019 ( stamped on card by shop in Denmark ) but when I received the Blockchain cert it said it was purchased in July so that kinda confused me but not matter I still have 4.5 years left if needed
