My SD43 is Slow
Hi guys, happy Memorial Day weekend!
My SD43 is about a year old. This is my daily watch. I never wind it assuming that the movement keeps it wound. But, I've been noticing that it's slow. So I synced it with my iPhone to determine how much the watch is off. April 8: Sync May 25: Rolex 1 minute behind Is this normal? If not, what should I do? Thanks! Jose |

There is more to the specification than this but as a simplistic answer it can gain/lose 2 seconds per day so yours is definitely ok

The watch may not remain fully wound purely through automatic winding depending on how (in)active you are, which can impact accuracy.
That said it’s certified to +- 2 seconds per day so yours appears to be within spec.

Perfectly acceptable, all is good. If you’re concerned you’re not getting a full wind just manually spin the crown to top it off, you won’t hurt the movement by spinning it 30-40 times even at a full charge.

It is not normal, it is a wonderful achievement of the micro mechanics developed by Rolex, 2 seconds a day! wonderful!

I have an SD43 from 2017 as well. I have noticed mine runs quite a bit slow - behind COSC standards. I'm losing 12 seconds a day. I'm planning on sending in after the summer.

60 seconds over 47 days. It's keeping excellent time, the delta is only 1.27s/day.
Spec is +2/-2 per day which itself is very good. Many would say even 5-10s/day is not worth worrying about. Your watch is not slow. It's keeping better time than many quartz watches. |

Yours is doing great at 1.27s / day. Mine was -25s / day and is at RSC now.

My 9 month old Sub is -3.5 secs a day, a bit disappointing relative to my other Rolexes, but better than all my other non-Rolex watches.

Mine is about the same. I don’t like slow watches but that’s keeping great time. Just wish it was + 1-2 seconds per day not slow.

As others have said, you are within spec. If you obsess about accuracy, you need to find a resting position overnight (assuming you don’t wear it to bed) that will compensate for the error on the wrist. It may or may not get you to zero, but it certainly will tighten it up a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
