Another 11 months of this???
Another 48 weeks...
Or 336 days
8,064 hours
483,840 minutes
29,030,400 seconds

And then it’ll be over for about a month until this stuff starts all over again...

Just marketing. Hodinkee is a hype beast. Real world translation....more Rolex advertising same products. Rolex is doing so well right now it does not actually even need any new products. Rolex and Patek are the Basel highlights that's why Omega left and now Breitling..no matter what they bring they are in Rolex's shade.

Rolex and Patek "are" Basel in modern times.....
I can't wait for Basel to see what Breitling has in store....said no one ever...!!!

No doubt a precious metal release of a unfavourable model on a rubber strap along with a tarted up tool watch to come again.

Especially this year Basel, real knockout . Maybe it is correlated with Rolex fans low expectations, I still don't get the hysteria about "new" Pepsi GMT. If all they have to do is just change bezel inlay color and mount different bracelet to cause excitement then ok. But actually I don't see any shadowing of Omega when they really release something new that is actually significantly different. They have hits and misses, but at least they do something new.

Not only Omega but whole Swatch Group pulled out from Baselworld because of greed and stupidity of Baselworld management. Mr Hayek has balls and don't need their deprecated show, in fact it's the other way around.

That wont actually be available in a dealer showcase

Pointless show from a brand that has lost its way.

I am hoping for a 47mm supercase, diamond encrusted, platinum Daytona on a super jubilee bracelet.

The real threads are about Basel 2025 and not this 2020 nonsense.

I'll never understand why people get focused on Rolex having "big" years at Basel... I thought part of the allure of Rolex was their classic styling and minimal changes over the years. If that much is true, Basel really shouldn't be all that exciting for Rolex most years. The past decade has been a roll out of ceramic models, super cases, a few new references, and tweaking the GMT-Master II (which always seems to get the future treatments first). Look for Rolex to update their movements across the professional line and very subtly change the case shape. It will be barely noticeable just as the BLRO is barely noticeable compared to the older supercase GMTs. That's how things "should" be. We will get some new dials and colors here and there, but Rolex is known for changing very very slowly. The big changes we "expected" these past couple of years were natural progressions (giving the Daytona a ceramic bezel, continuing to improve bicolor ceramic).

Baselworld 2020 will be renamed Rolexworld 2020 and attendees will be able to design their own Rolex on the floor using a Rolex phone app....

Since all of Swatch Group and Breitling have departed it left allot of floor space. Rolex/Tudor just got the space cheap. Just a matter of time before Basel goes away.

Perhaps they'll announce a "Build your own" from the configurator, and ship direct from the factory.

This year was a dud, in my opinion, other than the BLNR, which I woulda love to have built on a Jubilee at any point since its original release.

I'd love to see Tudor bring back their Submariner. If they did it might give Rolex some leeway in making changes to their own Submariner.

its about time to release a new submariner, with new movement, new bezel insert, new dial and a new case.

Not news. Tudor has always had a stand-alone at Basel. I’m sure it’ll be a record profit year though :)...

Nice!

Good move Breitling.
