Wait time

Curious,

What is the longest you’ve ever waited for a specific time piece?

Recently I acquired about getting my first patek. Hoping to see it around winter time. At the same time I asked to be put in his list for a 5712. Told me 2 years. Which is fine.

Just wondering what is the longest you’ve ever waited ?

Thanks James

I waited years to develop a strong enough relationship with my AD to have the privilege to wait on the 5131 list for more years. Still waiting. I may turn pro - Will get the call and pass just so I can wait some more.

I've been pretty lucky. Longest wait was 8 months for an explorer 1.

What are the chances that this watch is still in production when your number comes up?

My thoughts exactly. By the time peoples time will come (for a lack of better words) Patek's line up may change. At that point do you just go and try to get yourself on the next Patek wait list and hope you get it before that line is refreshed?

Longest wait for me was when I applied for a application piece for my 5102G total wait from the time of applying to actually getting the watch was about 9 months.... Approval was fairly quick taken into consideration that this was a while ago and times were different and dealers had nautilus and aquanauts in the showcases laying around up for grabs at discounts........

By the way one of my favorite Pateks I own and maybe top 3 in my collection

You know I don't like taking the big boys out.... Ohhhh and the 5740G wait was from Basel release to March 2019 so makes it about 1 year ..... Even though you can't really call it a wait since first one my dealer actually received

I’ve never waited more than 6-8 months. If the watch doesn’t show I buy secondary or move on. I don’t have the patience to wait years for a watch.

I guess I’ve been waiting a while for a 5711 blue. But I’ve gotten a handful of other cool watches along the way so it doesn’t really seem like a wait.
