Rolex accessories - A trip down memory lane (Image heavy)
I've been thinking of the good old days with this hobby more and more lately. That made me properly go through the humble collection of Rolex accessories I've collected since 2007.
A lot of them were gifts from friends on this forum and a lot of others have amazing stories about the chance, meeting amazing people (sellers), and sniping a few eBay auctions Can't really fit all in one shot I've got a thing for Anchors A few watch bezels (and protectors) I keep in this case 1987 Submariner brochure One of the forum members that sent this to me many years ago This one came all the way from Yorkshire. A fellow named Dave Some of you here must know him My first letter to (and response received) from Rolex in Geneva I've got too many catalogs and couldn't go through most but did flip though this one Ah, the good old days! Now for a slightly more detailed look at some of the anchors Now for a closer look at the Sea-Dweller tool kit that isn't factory sealed still I'll never open this one Hopefully one day I'll be able to get better pictures and provide more of a write-up on the history behind each and my personal story. Feel free to share some of your collection here too! It'll be nice to also hear from other collectors and learn more about rare items I've never seen (potentially). |

Wow awesome, I have the wallet, the white hat, a glove, travel pouch, hanky, and all that came with my current watch, but you could give Jocke a run for his Rolex accessory money

Awesome niche collection!! My wife is into the whole minimalist wave so she would literally kill me if I kept that much stuff around the house =)

Thanks, Tom Almost, I don't have one of the "gold plated" ones that came with the 18K Submariner ref. 16618. Maybe some day one will come up for sale and I'll be able to justify getting it.

Thanks, timepieceluvr A part of me even wishes I took screenshots of the Rolex site over the years to have a timeline of that. I guess the catalogs are the next best thing but the site had some (seemingly) exclusive content on it many years back. |

Here are the other large catalogs. The green one was shown already but had to capture them all together:
Thanks! Thanks, Larry! I've got some Omega items also but sold most of those. It just isn't the same to me but I do love the brand! |

Thanks, AJ!
Thanks, David! Quote:
Glad you enjoyed looking, Mike! Indeed! To me they're almost as important as the actual watches in some cases. When they discontinued the anchors at some point in 2005 (if I recall correctly) that was my chance to start getting my hands on as many as I could. Thanks, Paul! I remember seeing pictures Jocke posted of his insane (in a good way) collection many years back. He certainly did inspire me Glad you enjoyed looking That's the one!!! On the right is the exact one I remember from back in the day. The green one with the traditional Wenger plastic sides didn't appeal to me as much but is very cool, nonetheless. The one on the left came out more recently I'm assuming? |

Wow! Some truly awesome stuff here that you just can't rush - must come naturally after years and years of collecting.
Were the anchors from an AD at one point in time? I have never seen those before. As someone who sails (as a hobby) and is on the water a lot, I absolutely love those! |

Glad you enjoyed looking That plastic service container is actually from across the pond! Someone very special bought that one for me. Quote:
That's correct, back in the 1950's (I believe) these started out as additional hang tags to indicate the watch was indeed for divers. The tradition remained for quite some time and eventually they included the anchor in the plastic sleeves you see mine in until sometime in 2005 when they were discontinued. Like the boxes, Sea-Dweller tool kits, and other items they shipped to the AD's separately. I was fortunate enough to become friends with someone who's family had an authorized Rolex dealer at one point. The link below gives a pretty good general summary. http://luxurytyme.com/en/rolex-relat...weller-anchor/ https://www.watchprosite.com/rolex/r...88558.6930913/ Thanks, Dave! If Jocke posts his I think the entire forum will be jealous, me especially Thanks, Jay! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed looking |
