Shinola Lake Erie Monster

Hey Fellas! I just picked this up from a dealer friend a few days ago. Not really my thing but I am a fan of what Shinola has been trying to do for the past couple of years. Had purchased a quartz for a gift and that was pretty much it. I have to admit that I'm impressed with the quality and detail on this watch for under $2500. Presentation was good but really didn't like that the bracelet had push pins and not screws for sizing. I know that Shinola is all marketing but I have to give it to them on this one. My Patek won't be coming off my wrist anytime soon but I will surely keep this watch.

Do you guys have any thoughts on the watch?

We have an AD close by in Orlando and have found some of the models nice enough. Won't be one I would care to buy but I can appreciate them.

I hear you! never got a previous model because they were all quartz. This seems to be their first try at an automatic movement. The details are good and would definitely recommend to someone starting and perhaps can't afford a Tudor.

I like it. Visited Shinola-Chicago before our Chicago GTG and tried that watch.

I personally think you are better off buying a Tudor Blackbay for the same price

Do you really want to be like GerardoG, except for his cooking?

Nice watches, but better watches can be had for what they're charging imho

I agree with you but do you think you can get a New BB with bracelet for below 2500? I like Tudor better but man put them side by side and you will see what I mean.

Have to agree. I love what Shin does in their sub-$1000 line but this price point requires some more cellar time.

Still a beauty, but a bit steep.

Looks good. They were getting a little big for their britches with their quartz pricing. The build quality seemed ok to me. But I think of all the black divers that I could buy for $2500 with ETA 2824 and this would not even make the list. (I know it’s a Ronda auto). If I could pick this up for closer to $1500 then maybe.

when Shinola first came out I was really hoping they would buy up NOS movements from Bulova, Waltham, and other old american watch companies, oil the movements and do limited releases. there are still plenty of parts for vintage american watches, many NOS, and they way they could have a truely American made watch again. but alas they spend much more on advertising than their product and even living near detroit myself, I just have very little love for the company. looks like a $2,500 american assembled invicta to me.
