Rolex at Costco? Rolex at Costco.

I've heard of Rolexes being randomly stocked at Costco, but had never seen one in the wild before today.

Here's an 18K/SS DJ with a silver dial set with diamonds. If I'm reading Rolex's website correctly, this DJ retails for $12,350. Still a bit surprising to see these at Costco (also note the Omega box in the background - they had two ladies Seamasters).

The had two 116233s last year at my Costco. They were selling them for $8700. This one has a diamond dial but I think the price is still ridiculous for a 36mm DJ. It's one of the worst purchases one can make. You lose thousands as soon as you take the stickers off and I don't think a couple of small stones on the dial are worth paying $2k for. I still like seeing them whenever they have them. The best at my local Costco was a blue GV for $6800. I should've picked it up for that price. It was lower than even the GM price at the time. It was gone within a week. The 116233s took months to sell.

Or just return it to Costco because they don't care about the stickers.

Stopping by Costco (on a Snowy Eve)

Wednesday, November 29, 2017
3:09 PM

Who's store this is I do not know,
His home is in Washington though.
At this stolen line I'll now depart,
As I walk in to the low cost mart.

I see all the offerings, some I need,
Other's I want just out of greed.
Cameras and watches and TVs too,
Other's I needed, but who knew?

I wander the aisles and eat the snacks,
I look high and low upon the racks.
Since it's Christmas time there's toys and more,
And bulging inventory with in the store.

For twenty years I've bought from there,
In Arizona, Oregon, and everywhere.
Some stuff I still carry around,
Some is gone, landfill bound.

And there still stuff that needs returning,
For money back that I'm still yearning.
I'll get around to it for real someday,
I hope my embarrassment doesn't cause delay.

After all that time I've spent real money,
In mid six figures, it isn't funny.
Most are things I really needed,
My better judgement I've generally heeded.

But never the less each week I spend,
Trying hard to stop the trend.
And keep the purchases to low cost bargains,
And stay away from their website logins.

We don't have Costco in my neck of the woods. People around here wouldn't know how to act if one popped up at the local Walmart. LOL

They'd ask how much and then balk at the price.

Up where I live in New England, Rolex watches aren't well received at Costco; too contrary to the traditional New England thriftiness ethic. Mostly the highest value watches shown are Omegas or Breitling.

Agreed, I’ve seen 1 at the Danvers Ma location( rolex date 34 with a black dial) was actually a pretty sharp watch fluted bezel somebody got a good deal it was gone in a few weeks time. Haven’t seen one since and I’m a weekly shopper.

I disagree, if you like the DJ but it. If you are looking for an investment, buy land

Pretty confident it is ADs just like the grays on this site do. Of course here they also sell used watches.

I hope they find the source where these are coming from. You have to wonder how they get these watches. Are there a team of Costco guys out buying at a AD that it is discounting or they get them directly through a AD maybe not even in the USA? If so that AD is in for surprise when Rolex finds out. Wonder what would the trace of the serial numbers by Rolex would point to if they got handful of Costco Rolex stock. Do you think the boardroom in Geneva is happy about their brand being sold at a American discount shopping wharehouse, I don’t think so. So enjoy it while it lasts..

They have a Platinum Daytona with diamonds up for grabs on their website.

My local Costco has the same datejust as in the original post, they must have gotten a deal on a lot of that specific watch.

Do the ones from Costco come with the original Rolex warranty card, or is it some sort of Costco warranty? Just curious.

Rolex at Costco? Rolex at Costco.

Seems like I can find a Rolex in local Costco every time I visit there, which is once a month or so.

Today we also saw the Prada purse that I bought my wife a couple of years ago (for about $2,500 tax included back then from Prada store) available at a nice price of under $2200 out the door.

Of course none of these compared with the $65k diamond ring under the glass, or the $7000 bottle of cognac (I think) as heavy hitters of luxury items sold alongside your toilet paper and laundry detergent.
