worries about?
i was wondering because the watch bracelet is adjusted to its max,and it fits me just right, when the bracelet links are tightened will it mean that it might not fit me anymore?,i mean how shorter will the bracelet be,the links don't look that bad to me in the picture, but i have no experience with this, has anybody had this happen to them?would i have to fit another link and is that possible?

i feel like gollum, come back my precious!
waiting for my watch is like, joining a long queue at the post office in your lunch break, with a lovely elderly lady at the front, discussing her week with the woman behind the counter!
calm and patience needed! this picture is how excited i will be to get my watch back: |

well i am sat here with my stunning watch!,it looks brand new apart from the lovely dial!,it took my breath away when i saw it,i didn't expect it to look so good.
the glass isn't exactly the same(its a bit higher and flatter)but thats what Rolex says goes on there now,i guess they dont make new replacement parts for my watch?,also the crown did need replacing at no extra cost to me,but that too is slightly fatter!,so the watch does look slightly different, is this what to expect? anyway it looks amazing!!!!! i have a rubbish camera so sorry in advance! I thought the model was a 6144 but i was totally wrong, the case was made in 1942 i think, i will have to do some more research now! case ref:6246 serial: 234*** movement:49481(does that mean a 17 jewel precision movement instead of the 15 jewel i thought it was? Thankyou, yes i am,i think my Grandfather would be too. There isn't a single blemish on the case or bracelet,i am afraid to wear it in case i mark it,its very accurate now,its had two full winds and i haven't needed to adjust the time, its slow by two to three seconds over the last ten hours that i have checked it, i don't have an atomic clock though but i am really pleased with the accuracy!

Very nice, it just proves that there is not alot of difference between the old and new designes. Beautiful watch from 1951.

Thanks Luke, the serial number starts with 234*** which i have been told means the case was made in 1942 nearly 70 years ago, maybe the war got in the way of production?(total guess)and the case was made earlier than the watch was assembled?,or the watch sat in the shop for nine years, who knows!,anyway bought in 1951 as you said, and it still looks comparable to today's designs.
