G Shock GW-5000-1JF

So for some reason I'm unceasingly attracted to G Shocks. After checking out a lot of them, I think I've settled on the GW-5000-1JF. Maybe it's nostalgia for my digital watch high school days in the eighties.

As far as G Shock goes, what do you think?

I was born in the eighties, would you believe me if I told you my first watch as a 5 yr old kid was an Omega Military RAF 53 CK2777-1, a gift from my Australian godparent (He was an army personnel for the RAAF).That aside, I wore an Ingersoll Mickey Mouse watch till I was 12, then it was G Shocks all the way into adulthood (by then I already had a couple of VSAs/Omegas/Tissots) took my masters programme exams and running marathons wearing G Shocks, so I can definitely relate to that!
What You Really Want is the special edition model from the G Shock 35th Anniversary Collection ->GW 5035A-1 that says it all on the negative LCD screen in red motif " Since 1983 "

Hey friend,

Nice! I think it's really sharp, too. I don't have a digital watch in my collection and they're not to my taste, really. But I'm attracted to the square G-Shocks lately. I think this one is the nicest. Glad to hear that you enjoy yours! Thanks!

Thanks for posting and I totally dig your insights! We're of like mind!

Wow, that 5035 you posted is badass! Is that one yours?

It's funny because when I settled on the 5000, I thought I'd get a companion piece with a negative display someday. I think the 5035 satisfies that "someday" goal! I may have to pick it up quickly, too, before they vanish into private collections and the price goes up. Thanks for the suggestion!

Always space for some G-Shocks. Lots of cool choices out there right now.

A great choice! Not gigantic like a lot of the Gs, but still will survive anything that leaves your arm intact.

if you want just one subtle G-Shocks, GW5000 is the one to have. The build quality is solid, the strap is more comfortable than the other $50 Walmart G-Shocks, basically one self contained unit and you don't ever have to set it again (if you give it atomic signal and charging). :)

Arrived! Not exactly my style but I dig it!

I think I'm getting a few more. Nobody told me this brand was addictive!
