As a fan of Rolex what are your thoughts on...
Jaeger-LeCoultre.
More specifically the Master Calendar REF. 1558420 https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/eu/...r/1558420.html |

JLC, yes. This one, not so much, IMHO. I have a Master Date Sector dial and I love it. Reversos are also amazing if you like the square watch look. Something about this watch is a little plain to me, but perhaps in the metal it would improve...

This watch is gourgeous. If one buys it though they should keep in mind that it retinas value very poorly (which can be considered positive if buying pre-owned) and the service costs are very high.

Service, repair and maintenance costs would crucify me. Personally. I like a nice Reverso though.

Nice looking watch! I like the JLC especially the Reverso. I have always stayed away due to poor resale and service costs.

Big fan of JLC. They have innovated some very desirable pieces that are conversation starters when ever one wears one. Especially a Reverso.

Mmm is there not a section for this type of thread rather than the general rolex section.
If I cared about JLC I would join a JLC forum |

Love them, I’ve had three. Still own one. It’s a great watch to wear when I feel like making sure no one else will show I up wearing it. Resale is not as bad as people say, just takes longer to sell than a Rolex obviously. I had no prob selling two.

It is a fantastic watch by a great manufacturer. This reference is a GREAT way to delve into complications - as Jaeger has some VERY competitively priced AC and PC references.

I wear a Reverso Triple Calendar Moonphase as my daily. Love it. Have a black bay fifty eight and a Seiko 5 as beater watches.

Absolutely love JLC, and I’d had a couple Reversos over the years. The Calendar is incredible value, and I love the flash of red from the date indicator. It is a bit busy, so I tend to prefer the MUT moon and the RDM. However, it’s hard to go wrong in the Master Control series, and there were a couple time I came close to acquiring a Calendar.
Value retention will not be strong, and they have a rep for high service costs. Mine have been manual mind with no complication so I cannot speak to that. |

Timely thread for me! I've recently become enamored with the Master Control (not the sector dial version). It obviously would be a great dress watch but to me the case has a muscular enough look to it that it would work with more casual attire as well. Feel it would be a great partner for my 214270 with its lighter dial and date window.

I don’t like their bezel. It looks cheap the way they finish the edge oft. Almost as if it was stamped. Was seriously considering the JLC utltra thin, but decided against it it because of that.

This is one of my favorite moonphase calendars regardless of price. The Master Ultra Thin gets a lot of likes on this forum but this Master Calendar is superior to them, even if most don't recognize it. In person, the watch shines and would by my choice for a sub $10,000 dress watch.
