New and blue!

So very pleased to get this today. Blue dials have always been my favourite colour and I’ve wanted a blue Royal Oak for many years. It’s watch perfection for me. My photography skills aren’t the best and won’t bring out how amazing this dial is.

This is absolutely beautiful and it's so perfect when it comes to blue dials.

Wow, congrats! I've been waiting on a blue dial since 2018 haha, awesome piece man, love the cleaner dial on the 50th as well as the elongated batons.

Thanks everyone!

A couple of pictures of the 15500 and 15510 side by side for comparison. The 15510 doesn’t have the ‘AP’ on the dial, instead the markers are slightly longer.

Also how the the watches differ under sunlight - quite stunning really.

I haven’t just jumped on the blue dial craze (nautilus, jumbo, blue sky, blue VC etc etc)Ever since I’ve been into watches, it’s always been about blue dials for me. From my first major purchase of a blue Omega Seamaster in Belize nearly 20 years ago, to this gorgeous blue 15510.

We had half a dozen friends round this weekend and I was asked about cars - I said I’d rather buy watches than cars and it led on to me showing them these two. None of these people are into watches, nor know anything about watches. Every one of them preferred the silver dial. I explained the enigma in the watch world that blue seems to rule the roost, but no, it was the silver dial.

So whose right and whose wrong eh

P.S. my wife also prefers the silver dial - I may have to trade her in :-)

I learnt a long time ago to not ask non-watch folks what they think Stephen…..always bound to a) get an odd answer and b) utter disbelief when you tell them what the watch costs

Buy more AP’s and keep Amanda as you need her photography skills

Showed my wife pics of a 5513, 1665 and red sub last week and asked her opinion. "why are the hours orange? It looks like a Tudor, it's trying way too hard"

Told her the price and got utter disbelief.

A&B covered.

Your wife and friends have immaculate taste!
Although the blue dial is for sure a very good looking watch the silver one has so much more oomph.

I’m often torn between wanting an AP blue or silver/white dial one. I’ve been offered a couple of white RO when on vacation in Hong Kong but have always held off pulling the trigger as I’ve really wanted a traditional blue one. That said every time I see a silver dial the way they shimmer in the light is fantastic.

Now that I’ve settled in the UK and am trying to build a relationship with AP UK, I think I’ll take whoever colour I’m offered and be very grateful whatever it is

Congrats! That blue is tremendous. Out of curiosity, did you get both refs from the AD?

Great looking piece, I'm a fan of the new dial layout.

Congrats!

Hopefully I can score one myself.

Congrats! That looks amazing! The longer hands definitely bring more balance to the dial.

I’m wishing for a blue dial as a next watch as well. Also hoping it’s a 50th Anniversary one as it definitely makes it even more special.
