Using the term "Yogi" to refer to a steering wheel watch pic

Hey guys,

My acct here is new but I started sporadically frequenting watch forums over 20 years ago. I distinctly remember the term "Yogi" being used to mean "a picture of you wearing your watch, in your car, with the steering wheel visible."

I can't find any mention of that term when searching this site. Am I crazy or making this up? Maybe it was exclusively used at another forum like TimeZone or something?

Hmmm. I was on TimeZone for years and here for a long while.

I've never heard that term for steering wheel pics.

Welcome though.

I have heard the term Boo Boo for not being able to hide your newest purchase from your wife when the Fed Ex truck showing up.

Man this was really bothering me. I eventually found an entry in UrbanDictionary.com of all places (from 2005)!

So maybe it was a Paneristi thing?

Found one TimeZone post from 2020 that uses the term:

https://forums.timezone.com/index.ph...=7664667&rid=0

Older, again in the context of Panerai:

All I can see is Yogi Bear and a pik-a-nik basket waiting to be stolen.

I'm guessing a Paneristi thing. They were almost a cult following back at that time. Those guys were into it.

I had a Panerai back then and checked out their site but they were too hardcore for me.

This was a paneristi thing, a user named Yogi started posting pics with the watch and his steering wheel.
I vividly remember. It was an audi a6 and it started around 2003-2004 I believe

Never heard of that but I do remember the "Fremstar point" named after a member here.
That's when you take a picture of your watch and hand pointing at a landmark.
