Insights Please

I know we are amid a recession and anything other than Rolex does not sell well. Nevertheless, I have one to two year old Omega and Tudor that I would like to sell. I am not good with selling on forums and all these risks. Most places online that were buying are not buying and if they do, it is a rip off. Anyone might have an insight on how to handle that situation … please. Appreciate it and sorry to bother

Not a sellers market right now.

You can offer it here and check out interested buyers by reading their posts.
In the same time how is a buyer going to vet you ?
Many buyers like myself will never buy from private persons. I rather pay significantly more for peace of mind.

There is ebay and chrono but these platforms are always deciding in favor of the buyer if something goes sideways. Worst case you end up with no watch and no money.

Either way, your asking price must be a lot less compared to the professional sellers.

Good luck

Just check in the classifieds section and see who the trusted sellers are like takuya and Nashville watch and maybe they will take your watches on consignment for a reasonable fee. That way dealer doesn’t have to low ball you and doesn’t take on much risk and you get a fair market pricing minus the consignment fee around 10% I’d guess.

Or go to your local AD with a pre-owned section and do the consignment there. Peace of
Mind with no shipping and you also establish some rapport for the next watch at MSRP

Good advice! Yes, find a reputable dealer who will consign. that is your best bet IMO

My first step would be to see a few local preowned dealers. Assuming that those watches are a few grand each I would prefer selling outright. The delta might be 15% (25% vs 10% haircut) but I'd not want to have it drag on via consignment for possibly a few hundred more per watch.

Really? What recession?

Patek and Vacheron sell just fine as I have sold both this year.

There are a few Grey dealers here that may by them. PM a few and see what they offer you for them. Some trusted sellers here. Good Luck!
