GMT II 116710LN prices peaked?

I bought my 116710LN yesterday, a 2012 with box and papers and serviced by Rolex in 2015 and unworn since, I paid £8500 and am happy with the price as it seems to be at the low end currently, I do buy watches that I like and not as investments.
I'm just wondering peoples opinions as to whether I've bought this at the top and prices are falling for this model? as a knock on to batman etc. prices currently dropping

Your SS GMTc is one of the nicest watches Rolex has made.

It will retain its position.

Seems like a reasonable price. Lovely watch. One of only two that I’ve regretted selling.

In this region no one cares about the LN, everyone is Pepsi or Batman. I have been following four brand new LN’s making the circles for the last year and no one will touch them.

Just to be clear it’s my favorite GMT Rolex and only one I would buy but for retail pricing only. But that’s a personal choice.

Nice watch OP, wish I hadn’t of sold mine back in the day.

I believe if you hands on to it for a long time you’ll be fine. SS Rolex hold their value pretty well.

Great watch. You should not have any issues with value.

I think it’s topped out. I bought exactly the same few months ago for 8000.

There’s a lot around that aren’t selling however due to it being discontinued it’s not going to go down in price imo

Great watch, love the green accents - they are not making any more! Enjoy.

The price went bananas when they discontinued it but the problem was it was the least desirable piece anyway. People still want the others. I see the price coming off the highs but not below the original MSRP.

I think the price will level off at MSRP for the new GMT

I bought my 2007 V-serial 116710LN in 2015 for £5000.

Watchfinder offered to buy it off me for £8000, but i'm not selling!

Prices aren't falling... there are flat for that model after a small retrenchment late last year.
This LN is very high on my list.

Popularity gained traction once this model was discontinued. For good reason. I think if they come out with a 32xx LN SS, this will likely stay flat a bit longer. Regardless, it should eventually grow slowly as it becomes harder to obtain and shoot up decently for NOS.

It's discontinued. There won't ever be produced anymore 116710LN. I'm keeping mine in a safe.

I was offered one of these in January 2019 while waiting for a sub. "No way, I'm going to wait for the sub," I thought. Now, I've gone through two subs and am irked I didn't pick up this beauty.

Given the new GMT retail and based on the fact the all black is discontinued then I think 8.5k Is a reasonable price, enjoy

I think the huge initial spike was because of the sudden retirement w/o a direct replacement like the BLNR had w/ the jubilee version.

Honestly, the LN was not a popular watch for most of its retail life. Even while both the LN & BLNR were still being made, the used LNs were going for $1000-$1,500 below MSRP while used BLNR were selling for over MSRP.

The LN will keep its value well and steadily rise over time, I have no doubt.

It may not be hyped like the other GMT variants with Bi-colour bezels, but in many ways it’s the better watch for it.

I’m a huge GMT fan and have Pepsi, Coke, LN’s and CHNR’s in the collection and the best all round every day GMT by far is the LN and I wear mine as my daily. It goes everywhere I do.

I personally think it’s the best SS Sport watch Rolex have ever made.

I recently added a 116710LN and it has taken over a majority of wrist time over the BLNR. I feel like it could be a sleeper to continue to rise in value as the "not so hot" Rolex watches are often the ones that become the most desired. I don't know, but I do know I love the watch.

Maybe it's the last uni-colored GMT bezel Rolex ever makes?

Your money is safe in the LN. A discontinued stainless steel professional Rolex is only going one way. This model used to sit in cases 4 - 5 years ago and was deemed unpopular which makes good omens. Remember Rolex couldn’t sell Daytona’s when they first launched!

Also helps that it’s an extremely good looking watch!

I bought a 116710LN new a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Right before it was discontinued, I decided I was ready to move on to a Sub and started looking around. All of a sudden it was discontinued. I sold it for more than I bought it for and was able to buy my Sub with cash left over.

I didn’t buy it as an investment, but just lucked out with the timing.

my GMT

Got mine for $5950 in July 2007 (MSRP). Worn it daily for a decade. Now I have a few other watches that I rotate but this one still gets >50% of write time. Runs +1s/d no matter what activity I do. Best watch ever. I have other Rolex and "fancier" brands, but this one is still my favorite.

Agreed...one of the best. Have been wearing mine since 2008 never serviced. Not bad for $6k.
