Incoming first gold AP, 14790BA!

Good day ladies and gents!
It has been an incredible journey hunting this one down. After acquiring my steel some 3 years ago, I set my target on a gold, and never found the right one till some weeks ago..

I always pictured gold to be a little too tacky for my taste, and had often tried friends and families gold rolexes, which I never really liked (on me anyway). I still was so eager to try and find this reference in gold, because it always photographed so well whenever you would see it.
These midsized APs have always been my preference in terms of size and wearability for my wrists, but they are quite difficult to find.
Alas, I couldn’t be happier with this example.
Truly am smitten, and it’s time for its steel sibling to take the back seat for a while.

Pictures!

I can’t tell if it’s the photos but the octo bezel seems so over polished it’s now effectively more spherical? Again, could be the pic?

I see what you mean, definitely the photos.
Took me years only because I am very picky with condition.
I doubt they can be sharper than this unless it’s a new old stock..

Beautiful shots and beautiful time piece! I do not think the solid gold is tacky at all, it presents a very mature and seasoned look! Congrats!

Fantastic piece!!

(I have a secret grail in YG AP RO since I saw one in a TV-series. Seen RG on wrist of someone in real life and the bracelet works as well in gold as steel.)

Congrats on a great piece. I think these mid-sized APs are slowly being discovered. It's about time they shine

Thank you! Could not agree more.
The fact is that they are unbelievably beautiful on the wrist. Not small whatsoever, and for gents (like myself) that love the magic of a vintage dial / watch, this one truly does tick all the boxes.
It was difficult enough to find a good steel example years ago when they were almost in noones radar, it will only be harder (and much pricier) today.
They are exceptionally difficult to find in good quality.

I feel blessed to have these as part of my collection.

Great watch, congratulations. Been toying with the idea of buying an all gold vintage Royal Oak, really growing on me.
