Sell PAM 111 and upgrade to PAM 1312?
As the title says, would you?
I have a PAM 111 series R (2015) so one of the last few batches produced. I love how it looks and sits on my wrist and looks great always with my various Paci straps. However, despite having this for almost 20 months and using it almost as my daily beater, I still cannot get used to: 1) No date - i still always flick my wrist 2) Forgetting to wind it I have a Sub Date that I use when not on the PAM and purely from a functional perspective, Auto and Date rocks. Hence the 1312. I like the 312 more aesthetically, but the case size would just not work for me. That said, I also really like how the 1312 looks. Anyone gone through something similar as the subject line says? Cheers! |

The manual is part of Panerai's history, but my only one is an auto with date, so buy what makes you happy.
The two things that would give me pause about this move are the blue hand and moving away from the bullet proof and easy/cheap to service ETA. Good luck with your choice. 111 is really great, but I prefer to have no doubts about my watches. |

I get where you're coming from; I'm wearing my Daytona this week and it's the only watch I have that doesn't have a date.
I prefer the 312 to the 1312 but the newer model does have it's fans. Given that you're in Singapore, head up to the OP boutique at ION and have real good look at what's available. They really are a great bunch in there and they know their stuff about the brand. If he's available, ask for Farhan. Tell them what type of watch you're looking for and then sit back and enjoy the hunt. If your budget allows, think about a 233. Ok, it's a manual wind, which isn't what you want but there's an 8 day power reserve and the indicator will tell you when to wind. It's thinner because of the manual movement and is Panerai icon. Well worth a look. Good luck

I was in the same predicament and sold my 111 and got the 1312. I don't regret it one bit. I absolutely love it and my GMT and Sub get no wrist time because of the 1312.
I went with the 1312 instead of the 312 simply because I found the 312 far too top heavy for a daily wear.... Good luck in ur choice !!!! |

@Ruud - yeah i got my PAM from Ion. Good bunch. I first had the 112 and 560 in my hands - i just did not like the thinner 560 case and flat crystal. then i went back the day after and they had a 111 - and i was swept!
@Babolat - awesome pics man. Looks great. yeah i also like that the 1312 is more wearable than the 312. today i forgot to wind the 111 again, and for a tiny moment, was again annoyed. yeah 1st world problems i know... thanks for the thoughts all. the only thing really stopping me is that the 111 is an icon in itself, and just because of that, is hard to part with. but if be practical, the 1312 ticks all the boxes - and i should be done with thereafter! ok, will sleep more on this... |

Mistake. PAM 111 has a smaller profile and much more comfortable to wear. I don't particularly care for the thickness of the 1312 even with the smaller frame. The 111 will only increase in value.

@lig and @Hwest1013 - well, now that I pay even finer attention to all the small differences between the 111 and 1312, i now also cannot see replacing the 111. I like it's black outline hands and the black circle in the center - which does make it look different to the 1312. the more boxy side profile too keeps the lines simple.
but the 1312 with the T.M in the lock, the cushion profile + date and auto makes it hard to resist. oh well. we all know how this is going to end - i will get the 1312 and not part with the 111! |

good luck

If you want auto and date, 1312 is a fine choice. But I would also consider 164 / 104 / 24 / 25 to stay with the 44mm Luminor family because the 111 case size / shape works well for you

@Babolat - do you mind sharing where you picked up that strap in the first picture (black w/ blue trim)? Looks great with the blue second hand!

I love all that you count as negative.
For me winding the watch connects me to it and as far as date goes, I just use my phone. We are all the same but different.. Panerai is great when you finally find exactly what you want For me, two hands, manual wind, display back and sandwich tick ally boxes. Good luck Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |
