So I'm a bit of a nerd for vintage Rolex dials that are co-branded by retailers and I came across this watch. Do you guys think "D. Kennedy, Coleraine" is a retailer? Or was this just...the watch owner's name? If this is a jeweler, it's the first double-signed Rolex I've seen with the name of a retailer from Northern Ireland.

That would have been in the years of Hans Wilsdorf’s efforts to capture market share. Looks like pre-WWII era officers watch in a rare silver casement. Maybe mid-late 1930’s?

Don’t know D. Kennedy, Coleraine heritage, but it would not be the owner’s name unless he was wealthy enough to have a watchmaker disassemble it and refinish the dial.

More likely D. Kennedy was a jeweler willing to order many of them. The heritage might be lost to the passage of time. If you’re interested, just search the business directories in Irish archives for Coleraine and nearby towns. You might unearth D. Kennedy and find some lineage there.
