Tim could literally talk about a turd and I would watch that review. Cellini line is definitely underrated imo.

Yep. He could take a Longines quartz and have people salivating over it. Genius.

That’s amazing looking, never seen that one before and Rolex Blue dials are all pretty sweet!

In my opinion, the reason why people don't get the Cellini is because it's not popular.
And I completely understand. Rolex watches are expensive and are getting higher, year after year. With that much money on the line, you'd want to bet on something safe. And popular IS safe. Thus, people gravitate towards the 'safe' choices like the popular models.

Why buy something quirky and weird, and you end up having a hard time when you try to sell it?

Rolex's prices have reached the point where it can't be 'quirky' anymore. Only Tudor can afford to do that now.

Beautiful piece, I had the opportunity to see this reference in person. Very impressive to say the least.

Love Tim’s videos.

I admire the Cellini line. I don’t have a need for one at this point in my life, but if I did this one and the blue sunburst dial would be contenders.

What's not to like, especially with the moon phase. Many of the Cellini are bargains in PM at their price range. About the only thing more competitive is a Lange Ultra Thin 37

Cellinis get no love on the forum. Not sure why either, they are beautiful.

I always thought it was interesting that Barack Obama got a Cellini. It also looks like Obama wears his watch on his left hand, even though he's left-handed. Prince Harry, of course, wears an Explorer II and a Breitling Aerospace.

Too thick for my taste. I would choose Calatrava instead, if I were interested in formal watches

Maybe it's my ignorance but I've always assumed WIS (once they have collected the staple pieces from the Rolex range) move onto high horology and into the holy trinity.

People looking for a dress watch tend not to look at Rolex. I'd say most buyers go and buy a Calatrava which will take them closer to the Nautilus and or Aquanaut (AD relationship building etc).

Also the AP Royal Oak is a similar price range and i'd image most people who buy Rolex sports models would take the AP over the Celleni.

Always found it a bit strange he waited to wear it until after he was finished serving as President. Guess others have done the same in an effort to be more relatable for the masses. I don’t think there’s anything to be ashamed of about wearing a Rolex or nice watch though. Harry’s Polar looks great and been representing Rolex for the many years he’s been wearing.

Because you like it?

Oh wait, I forgot. TRF has become the watch investment forum. A place where you can check what the safe bets are before you buy something...or check to see how your "investments" are doing.

Speaking of Tudor, they're about the only one turning my crank lately. That's why I've bought a few, actually.

This piece looks great. Never gave it much of a chance before but looking deeper, I could see myself owning one of these.

No Yellow Gold Cellini?

Amazing.
Would buy today.

Everose Gold is beautiful, but will never replace yellow gold (in my opinion)
I fear it is a bit of a fad.

And, I have a yellow gold ring, and obsess over the matching.

Very surprised no YG Cellini.
Bummer.

Back in the days of the old west in the 1800s during the gold rush, no one ever struck a rose gold vein...

Not particularly good looking to me. I love dress watches from Patek, ALS, JLC, Omega, IWC, even Breguet. But the Cellini line does absolutely nothing for me. Simply put I wouldn't wear one despite the excellent quality of Rolex watches in general.

Cellini’s are very elegant, ornate and classics. A suit and tie watch. Very beautiful

I love that Cellini moon phase. And the little guy's batman watch, ha. so cute.

I just need that in yellow gold !
I assume yours is everose?

Sometimes it is hard to tell in the pictures.

Sure looks nice.

I tried a everose, but the clash with my gold ring did not work.

I was (am?) full speed ahead on a DayDate 40, YG, but ... after further review, I am concerned about the massive wrist presence.
I am now open to the gentlemanly dress watch world.
But, I really only like Rolex.
