Exactly - It's his watch, and his money. I'm happy he took the time to share it with us. I'm a fan!

Maybe someday you’ll also be able to get whatever you like without having to worry about value retention.

Not sure that I could jump that hurdle, but I do like it. You have a vintage gilt look and the mechanicals of a modern sub....best of both worlds! Wear it in good health!

First glance at the photo yelled to me “black bay!”

I would have picked up a 5513 and left the ceramic stock.

Ceramic No Date Sub with a 5513 Feel

The chamfering is easy but where do we get those dials and bezels, that’s my question. If someone can scrounge up the parts we can handle the rest. Wouldn’t mind having one for myself!

Never understood how they are able to reprint the dials so openly? Are there countries exempt from IP laws?

Yeah, I’ve always wondered that.

I guess it’s still a Rolex dial... the brass slug. Printing Rolex on it doesn’t seem like much of an infringement.

Any chance they could apply a matte finish to the bezel? Think that would really complete the look.

I dig it. I think the key here is if the OP enjoys it, that's really what matters. Good on you for taking a chance and I hope it continues to bring you joy every time you wear it!

On a separate note, those Tempus watches are bonkers. I'd love that Explorer dial Sub mod...

Looks great. I dig it. Love the Tempus Machina watches as well. For those saying just buy a 5513. Big difference wearing a 50 year old watch versus a modern watch with a vintage vibe. Had plenty of 5513's over the years. My fav watch, but I generally wear the modern 6 digit Subs for daily wear.

It looks wrong because everything else about this watch is extremely modern. The supercase and that dial are huge contrasts.

I'm OK with the look, but how much more $ would you need to add to get a Tudor to give you the same look?

Looks great!

To all the naysayers— maybe the OP would rather have a watch he truly enjoys rather than retaining the value of a luxury product lol. Can always pick up another SubC without an issue (they are mass produced after all).

We’re getting off topic. Where can we find those Tempus dials and inserts?

Would love to see Rolex release a 369 in April with the new movement Subs.
