Upgrade to 3861?

If and when Omega ever changed the 1861 to the new 3861 for the original moonwatch would you “upgrade”? And if so why?

I would like the accuracy, but it also brings it farther from the original worn back in the day? Hard to say what I would do.

3861~1861~861~321...it’s a constant evolution. I think the benefits of the 3861 outweigh the drawbacks of it ‘not being original’. If the 3861 was available in the 1960s you can bet that’s what would be used instead of the 321

I don't believe I would/will. There are a lot of 861/1861 out there but if they quit making them their value might creep up, probably not to original 321 land but some perhaps.

I'm probably going to stick with my 1861 for the foreseeable future.

If it’s my first speedmaster, why not? Better accuracy and way better anti magnetism.

But if I already have a 1861, I’d keep it. It’s still a very good movement.
