Love at first sight.

Popped into the local Seiko store in town yesterday and noticed the beautiful green Sumo in the cabinet (SPB103j1) needless to say once I tried it on it was always going home with me Believe me pics don’t do it justice this thing is just gorgeous talk about Quality and value for money for me there’s just nothing to touch Seiko lately. Over the past couple of years Ive probably picked up 7 or 8 Seiko’s initially due to the fact I couldn’t get my hands on any of SS Rolex pieces I wanted gotta say nowadays I’m seriously taking more interest in Seiko than Rolex. Anyway a few shots I took of this beauty.

That is a gorgeous Seiko. I saw that when I picked up my 063. Wasn’t really into the green, but that one really caught my eye. Congrats.

Congratulations. I just got the first one from my AD and had been waiting on it since the information on the release became available. I moved out of my Rolex Sport models, SD43, Hulk and a Polar Explorer II. The profit made was nice and this watch replaced the Hulk for me. While I really like the Hulk, the price and size difference, for me, did not justify the difference. I am in the honeymoon phase with my new Seiko but I like it better than the Hulk taking all of the factors into account.

I’m with you regards the price difference it’s just crazy to think the sumo is around a 10th the price of the hulk. Admittedly the bracelet and clasp on the Seiko is nowhere near that of Rolex but for me that’s an easy fix if I’m not happy I usually just replace with some aftermarket band. Enjoy your sumo buddy

I saw about 4 of these at an AD's the other day, they were all sold and waiting for collection or shipping. Honestly, as good as all the photos are in this thread (and they are) they just don't do justice to the colours of this watch. It is absolutely stunning.

Many congratulations to those in this thread for your wonderful photography and absolutely fabulous watch.

Niiiice. Mine should be here next week. I am debating buying the Marine master clasp for the bracelet but it is brushed not polished on the edge, it does have a micro adjust though. Thinking about adding a signed seiko sumo crown as well. I’ll wear it and see how I feel about the clasp and how the watch looks without a signed crown. The lack of signed crown bothered me at first but the sapphire and 70 hour power reserve and green color won that argument.

Beautiful! I will take that over a Hulk any day of the week and twice on Sunday! (go ahead and stone me you haters) I've become bored with Rolex and have picked up 6 seiko's and a GS this year. That thing is stunning.

Thanks Steve I’m with you buddy all hail Seiko Seriously I’m fed up of the BS from Rolex so much so in the past couple of years my money has gone to Seiko

First of all congrats! Second of all you just cost me $999.00 Australian dollars. Just ordered one from a Sydney cbd based seiko stockist. The pictures of the green dial and bezel just did it for me.

I also had no luck with obtaining a hulk over a 2 year period through multiple AD's, this will easily fill my hunger for green.
