Panerai 050 Bracelet Gap?

Hey all!

Recently got a Panerai 050 in (40mm, blasphemy!! but on a bracelet, not to bad...) and absolutely love it. Was just wondering if any other members had this particular model, or maybe a 44mm model with this style bracelet, and could advise me as to whether or not the gap is supposed to be this big from the bracelet to the case? Bought it pre loved so not sure if a polish job loosened up the end link fit or if it was just like that all along.

Did some searching on forums and all I could find was an unresolved thread from 2011 with a similar issue but unanswered. Any insight would be appreciated!

Yes, the gap does seem too large. It should be tighter. Not sure what would be the fix.

Otherwise, nice watch! I like that generation bracelet with the crown guard style.

Can you post a clearer pic of the watch looking straight on at the face? Also a closer pic of the crown guard straight on as well.

Appreciate the reply guys...unfortunately that's what I was expecting to hear. No way Panerai actually designed an end link fit that loose but it was tough to find owners to confirm...

I've contacted LAWW about possible laser welding some material onto the lugs where the end link tabs meet (currently have surgical tape there) as it seems that's where the lugs were potentially over polished...

Any more insight from owners would be appreciate! Here are a few more pics! (along with the CG pic?)

I’ve only ever seen that on a fake Panerai. Not implying anything but I hope you checked everything out.

Ouch...that'd be a tough one to swallow. Brought it to several shops including Ben Bridge and a local certified watch smith for other services and neither mentioned that possibility. The retailer I purchased from is apart of a federal anti counterfeit group as well. I shot them a message to see but definitely appreciate that insight

No the PAM50 cyclops look like that. I’m just wondering if the bracelet is fake and not necessarily the watch.

Quite possible I guess, but I’ve brought it to a Panerai AD here (Ben Bridge) and they never mentioned anything. The gap is also prevalent in a few preowned 050’s online

https://www.chrono24.com/panerai/lum...-id8106124.htm

So I just concluded it’s more of an overpolishing issue. I reached out to the retailer so I guess we’ll see what kind of response we get...

I think maybe the bracelet is aftermarket.
