Speedmaster '57 clasp on 321 bracelet

I saw someone comment on YT video at some point that alluded to this being possible.

So stopped by my Omega AD this past weekend to have a look, take some measurements and actually try this out.

Of course I'm interested because the '57 clasp has push button quick adjust functionality.

And turns out - it will work! Slightly larger clasp but otherwise looks exactly like the 321 clasp. They're currently trying to find the part number and will then order. Swatch group had issues with their ordering system for the last few weeks but sounds like things have come back online recently.

If anyone else is interested, I'll circle back with the part number.

To be clear, this isn't a half measure like some were doing with the 3861 and Chronoscope clasp. It's a direct swap and the only caveat is the '57 clasp is slightly larger.

Agree! I typically don’t even consider watches without a quick adjust because of how my wrist swells. But the 321 is special. And if this works as tested it’ll be damn perfect!

Well luckily I could get a very good fit of the 321 bracelet. But it's still to have a quick adjust in place.

Interesting information

Does the quick adjust clasp provide for about 2-3 mm of adjustment?

I’m not 100% sure I’d do it to mine as I just love the clasp profile and the beauty of how it integrates into the bracelet. That said, I do wish it had some on the fly adjustment.

Quick follow up.

Part number is 117STZ015404 and it's $202.

BUT. ADs nor Omega boutiques can place orders still. Like, they can't order anything. And it's apparently been like this for weeks. They can only sell what they have in their stores. If it's not in store and isn't already in route, it cannot currently be ordered. Sounds completely insane but I've confirmed with two boutiques and my AD.

Just to add to this- The '57 clasp will also fit on the Apollo 11 50th anniversary flat-link bracelet, but the links that connect from bracelet to clasp have to be swapped as well.

Nice information to have, thank you,

I’m still not sure I’d mess with the OG clasp on the 321. I mean it has the vintage logo which ties nicely into the applied dial marker and the overall heritage aspect of this piece.

That said, I had considered having one extra hole drilled into the clasp for great adjustment …. I chickened out of that too

EDIT: how much adjustment does the 57 clasp give you?

Both clasps, as shown in the photos above, have the vintage logo. Not to mention, as I highlighted earlier - this isn't some half measure. It's a direct swap. Which means it can also be directly swapped back. I can understand not caring about having quick adjust and therefore not being interested. But swapping a clasp vs drilling another hole is a no brainer to me.

Adjustment offered is the same as the new 3861/Professional bracelet - single push button style adjustment offering 2-3mm.

The top clasp definitely does hot have the vintage logo to my eye. It’s fatter or more “circular” looking.

I’m not saying it’s a bad idea at all .. it’s your watch to each their own
