Brand New 2014 Sea Dweller4K stickers

Hi all,

I have been looking for a SD4K or a Submariner for a while now and am close to pushing the button. I am leaning towards a SD4K due to it’s unusual nature.

I have found one from 2014 and unusually looks like it still has its original stickers on. There are loads from what I can see but the main ones that stand out are the one on by the HEV (with a barcode of some kind) and the one by the clasp (with a red line) as per pics.

As it is unusual for me to see this, as I was not expecting a 2014 NOS watch, please can the experienced members confirm that these stickers will indicate that the watch is unworn and BNIB condition..

While that its true, even serviced/polished watches are not as perfect as a brand new one. If you can see it in person that will be better.

It doesn't mean it's unworn, it just means that there are still stickers on it. It's a good sign though. And that barcode comes on all modern Rolexes.

Brand New 2014 Sea Dweller4K stickers

I bought a second hand SD4K in May/June last year which was new in Aug 2015. I’ve been wearing it every day since and here’s a photo of a stickers still in situ...

...well worn as you can see, so the stickers alone mean jack!

Mine actually had a couple of others still on it when I got it but I ripped those off and frankly I’ve no real reason to have left this final one on! Strangely though, I do get some slight kind of satisfaction/pleasure in the knowledge that it’s probably been there since my watch was new back in Aug 2015.

SD4K is a great daily so buy one in the best condition you can find and get it on your wrist and enjoy!

I guess what I am trying to ascertain is if these are factory applied stickers (rather than stickers that someone has applied to a used watch), which could indicate that the watch underneath is in brand new condition and also unworn (or rarely worn; I appreciate it is possible to wear a watch with stickers on) compared to those 2014 ones that don’t have the stickers and which may also have been polished.

They look like Rolex genuine stickers if that helps (but I’m no sticker expert) ;-)

The NOS SD4k will cost you a pretty penny more than a very lightly worn piece. You only buy NOS of a discontinued model if you intend to keep it that way. If you want to wear the watch and enjoy it then buy a nicely worn used piece and save a bundle.

Completely agree. Those stickers look fine and OEM. No way to know if it’s been worn ever but stickers start to peel and look funky once the watch has been worn awhile.

My thoughts exactly. However:
The price of the stickered SD4K is a few hundred £ lower than other lightly worn ones.
May wear this watch a few times but mainly for storage for a future gift and the stickers would enhance the “new” appeal.

Also would this then increase the value in say 10-15yrs time vs a 2014 watch without stickers?

An NOS SD4K in 10-15 years will be at least 30%ー35% more valuable than a lightly used one.
My feeling is that this particular model has a high change to be a modern collectible. Definitely more of a chance that the now popular BLNR, or Hulk, or BLRO etc

A NOS SD4k that is selling for less than a used SD4k seems odd and I would proceed with caution. You need to do everything in your power to vet the seller as much as the watch.

Is there a clear sticker with green stripe on an end? To OP's original question, everything looks fine to me ... wear and enjoy in good health.

11.000 EUR for NOS seems like a great deal.

It looks like the sticker on the backside is missing but impossible to be sure from that angle.

Stickers look kosher, especially the barcode one and, the tag on the bracelet. Particularly, I don’t care so long as I intend to wear the watch, I just rip them off. I’m not a safe queen collector so, it’s irrelevant to me, stickers or not, they’re quickly dispensed of.

Lower than used market pricing?

I’d move on to a TS if possible.

If any doubt - there is no doubt.

9500 seems a steel, if it’s a trustworthy seller jump on it and enjoy!
