It keeps coming back with new debris

I sent my 1675 back to the RSC after an issue with the seconds hand and a speck on the date wheel. Got it back but now there’s two blue specks on the inside of the crystal and one of them is on the cyclops. It took 7 to 8 months to get it back last time. Is it worth sending back again?

Yes. They should make it right. They pick up on microscopic stuff when giving a service quote. They should shift that crap.

This has been going for too long. Will my 2 year warranty restart when I bring it in? It didn’t last time I sent it back for warranty but I’m not sure if that’s normal.

Not acceptable. I had similar issues in the past.

Take a very very very close look or even a loupe with you when you pick it up at RSC. To remove specs of dust they should be able to do it for you on the spot while you wait.

The problem is that I don’t live anywhere near the RSC. I just take it to the AD to ship over. It took over half a year to deal with the last issue. I think I’ve worn it less than a month since the overhaul.

Which service center did you send it to?

After my experience with RSC and incompetent people I won’t even say watchmakers because that would be an insult to people who take pride in their work and profession but the hacks that butchered my watch. I would go to an independent watchmaker or a Rolex authorizes service center that’s local.

That’s just me personally. I’m sure there is success stories and people being very happy with RSC but I am not one of them.

The watch has been keeping great time but it’s just these little issues that have soured the experience for me. First it was not replacing my case back. Next was the date wheel debris and weird seconds hand. Now it’s blue debris under the crystal.

No, your 2 yr warranty began when the service was originally completed. You might check if any of your closer AD’s have a watchmaker who has achieved the status of a servicing center dealer.

Is there a way to photograph what you’re describing?

I would be inclined to ask your local AD if they have a watchmaker who can remove the dust from the watch. You can then check to make sure you are totally happy with the work before you accept the watch back. Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.....I am sure you will.

That would depend on how you were looking at it, if using loupe or high magnification to find these specs, please post a picture so we can all see these specs.

It’s noticeable at quick glance but if you look at the cyclops it will catch your eye. I’m not using any magnification. It’s worse in daytime lighting. I will try and upload a picture later.

There are no ADs with watchmakers on hand and it’s a day’s trip to get to one. All the ADs send it to the Toronto RSC. No one else here has access to Rolex parts afaik.

Sorry that this happened and I am sure it is frustrating. Two choices, either live with it or send it back. Choose and move on. I would live with it for a while if the RSC could not tell me they would expedite this. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

What a pain. It will bug you every time you look at it. Need to get it fixed.

Insist that they fast-track it, as it is they who have dropped the ball. It's a five-minute job. (They might just point and laugh knowing Rolex, but it's worth a try.) The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

It looks like it came from the plastic they stick to the case sides after service. Those have blue stripes.

I found out where those specks are from. They are rubbed off from the case sticker. One of them was not stuck on properly and some of the blue lines are rubbed off. The watchmaker must've applied the stickers before assembling the crystal.
