the Panerai is built like a tank. You could literally use the watch as a pair of brass knuckles.....have considered the AP on a few different occasions...and as much as I like it doesnt suit my lifestyle. I wear all my watches to the gym, to sleep, cooking, travel, crossfit....just felt like the AP is a bit too pretty. However, I did try on the diver and it is extremely comfortable. IMO more so than the ROOC. no wrong choices...but there are other submersibles i would get before the 187. i think the 616 is what i would go with over an AP diver.

This really cannot be a real question ! Right , if you can afford any AP model vs several Pam's maybe unless getting into to super UBER rare Pam it's hands down AP.

Have you considered the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms? Outside of Rolex and Omega, it would be my choice for a diver.
