Probably for 2 main reasons. First is the high rarity of the early R serial (R7xx) with porcelain dial. These dials are said to have a "3D" effect between the black font lettering and the white dial in certain lighting. Second, vintage Daytonas broadly are on a different price trajectory than other Rolex sport references. A brand within a brand; and given PNs/6263 etc are now fetching stratospheric prices, this craziness is spilling over into the zenith Daytona.

Shoot me a PM, and I'll give you my opinion. There are some very important issues not discussed that I can share w/you. If you like? I have both watches, and I would trade my only double punch papers/full set 3.3M SN, mint 1680 for the "right" 16520, but it would have to be the right, one-model (as there were several Zenith Daytonas). Cheers. wT
