I've owned this for almost a decade. A great many professional and recreational divers actually choose Seiko. The Orange Monster is a popular favourite and represents great value.
Have you ever noticed when the hour, minutes, and seconds are lined up, it looks like a rocket ship?

Black Bay on duty

The Black Bay is a real workhorse field watch. Almost indestructible. As close to the James Bond Sub in a modern day interpretation.

Man that's awesome.
I love the Black Bay Black.
Are you actually in the Navy?

Wearing the Vostok Amphibia simulating an aggressor fleet

Just as the airforce has an aggressor squadron for realistic training scenarios, so does the navy also conduct enemy simulations with an aggressor fleet. Here I wear my Vostok Amphibia for an exercise to achieve the right headspace.

Anzac Day

25th April is Anzac Day in Australia. This day is marked as a day of remembrance for all the men & women who have served in the defence & freedom of our country. Current & former soldiers marched in public inclusive of myself and my colleagues. Today was also the day my great uncle marched. He is 92 & possibly the last man left in his squadron. He served with the Royal Australian Airforce during WW2 in the Pacific theatre, flying with the Catalina PBY squadrons. These were long range flying boats used for refuelling, transport, evacuation and patrolling the oceans for enemy ships and submarines. They were low flying & slow. They were ideal for anti submarine patrols & some were painted black for night stealth missions. These were known as Black Cats and famously called Felix, just like the US Navy's Fighting 31 squadron. The Catalina squadrons were usually the first to spot and engage Japanese submarines & there is an account of a British Cat attacking a Japanese aircraft carrier without any allied support.
My Great Uncle was flying a diplomatic mission delivering top secret documents from the Australian Embassy in Hong Kong back to Australia when their flight was compromised. They were forced to ditch into the South China Sea. After 2 days they were rescued by a British Destroyer. Three of his crew died. My Great Uncle was awarded the patch of the Goldfish Club(search google to find out more).

The photos attached are images of Anzac Day. The watch is what my Great Uncle wore in his service with the Airforce. It's a telemetre chronograph with a Landeron flyback centre pusher. Enjoy!
