5177 White Dial Discount?

I know the 5711 white dial is not as popular as the unobtainable blue dial, would it be normal to get some type of discount on the white dial version?

It could possibly happen. I believe it would depend on your relationship with the AD

Yes I realized this was a moot post right after Silver Bullet's reply. I was inquiring at my AD about the white dial earlier last week and there is an opportunity to buy one within the next month. I should have asked him when I was face to face.

Surprised in US discounts are not the norm, before Brexit they were here for that.

I did negotiate a good deal for the 5167, but 5711 is a totally different animal.

I received about 5% off mine a few years back. Nominal but I had no prior relationship. Cold called and found it.

All depends what relation you have with your AD, I didn't even ask for any discount on my 5711 blue dial, same for the Rolex Daytona C, was happy to get both in relatively short waiting time, if you don't have a relationship with the AD I don't think they will do anything, even of the white is less in demand it is still a very in demand watch, so chances are low I wiuld imagine

You mean you can sell a BNIB 5711 from an AD to a gray dealer for £2-2.5k profit?

It depends on the relationship with your AD as some have mentioned, and I think 5~10% should be achieveable.

My friend was only offered £15k by a well-known UK watch dealer for his sealed 5711 blue dial recently.

Frankly that's just a terrible bid. WatchFinder told me as recently as today they will pay over list for a 5711 blue dial, though I did not ask about the white dial.

But in the UK a chance of a discount on either is as good as zero from what I've seen. It's more a case of you should be grateful to be able to buy one!

That dealer is a joke just wants to rip your friend off.

A sealed Blue would fetch close to £22k from a dealer.

Correct see my screenshot. But again this is due to the low MSRP in the U.K. Effectively what it is is that you are selling a 5711 for a "global" price. it just becomes a profit as the UK price is so low.

The weird thing is they are long term friends with each other!

I found it hard to believe at the time he told me.

Thanks for confirming. I once sold a watch to them for a few £k profit, unintentionally, just something I bought and changed my mind on. However that profit has certainly been offset by my other purchases with them over the years!!

WF are trying to sell a sealed in box one for £29K so I think they would offer over £22K.

Seriously, why go through the trouble of a middle man when you can sell it yourself and take all of the profits?

I wonder what a 5711 white or blue would sell for at UK forum prices?

£20,500-£21k

Seeing that a dealer with a brick and mortar shop will buy it for £20,500, anything greater than or equal to that figure. Ofcouese depends on condition too.

Blue is a tricky one as it sells for even more than the white but a lot of people do not want to spend 5712 money on a 5711.

That's good to know. I've got a blue 5711 arriving soon from the AD but I'm torn between the 5711 and DD40 YG stick. Tried on the DD40 yesterday and I love it! The Nautilus feels more like I 'ought to like it', if that makes sense, but I keep thinking I'll be kicking myself one day if I don't get it. Heart versus head...

Wear the PP for 6 months and then make a decision. If you look after the Naut you should still be able to sell for a profit, so the best of both worlds.

If you don't love the 5711 I would pass and let someone else have the enjoyment.

Usually I would go straight to the DD40 but with a 5711 almost anyone can afford to take her for a spin
